Chapter 161 - Deep Within the Chasm

A few minutes later, when Rongzhao and Boyang rushed with all their might to the place where the Millelith were fighting, they found over a hundred monsters lying dead on the ground. Clearly, the Yaksha had struck again.

Not only that, more than a dozen wounded Millelith soldiers were resting on the rocks, panting heavily. Every one of them looked exhausted, their faces etched with weariness. During the time they had been holding back the monsters, they had fought constantly, never letting their guard down. They had not rested at all. How they longed to lay down their spears and get some real rest.

"Thank you for your help. Without you, these hundreds of monsters would have broken through our lines and rampaged through the heartland of Liyue. Sir, you must be a yaksha under Rex Lapis. May I ask your name?"

These Millelith were the elite of the elite, battle-hardened veterans who had seen much. The moment they saw Bosacius, they recognized him as a yaksha, and they sensed the murderous aura that clung to him—the kind of killing intent that only accumulates through years of constant warfare. They were astonished and wondered how many battles he must have fought to amass such an aura.

Hearing their question, Bosacius said flatly, "My name? Forgive me, but I have forgotten everything."

The Millelith looked confused.

Boyang and Rongzhao quickly stepped in to explain. "This Brother Yaksha has lost his memory due to some affliction. Never mind that for now. We are shamans who have come to help fight the monsters. Where are the main Millelith forces? What is the current situation?"

Boyang and Rongzhao were clear‑headed and immediately asked the crucial questions. What was the current state of the battle in the Chasm?

A Millelith soldier wiped the monster blood from his body and began to speak. "The main Millelith forces are at the center of the Chasm, where the monsters are most numerous. As for the situation there, we don't know. We haven't received any orders from inside for two days. Our mission is to kill any monster that tries to leave the Chasm."

He sighed. They, too, wanted to know how the battle was going in the depths. But their orders were to hold these exits and stop any monsters from escaping. Until the war ended, they had to obey.

The soldiers' expressions softened as they looked at Boyang and Bosacius. "Since you have come to help, please make your way to the center as quickly as possible. We don't know the exact situation, but we can sense that the fighting there is fiercer and more desperate. We entrust this to you."

Several wounded Millelith soldiers bowed to Bosacius, Boyang, and the others. Seeing their wounds and the blood on them, Rongzhao, who was skilled in healing, could not bear it. He hurriedly produced his medical tools.

"Brothers of the Millelith, let me treat your wounds."

But the soldiers refused. "These injuries are nothing. They won't kill us. The men fighting at the front need your help more. Go and reinforce them."

Not only did they refuse treatment, but they also rose to their feet, taking up their spears again, ready to face any monster that might appear.

Seeing this, Boyang and Rongzhao could only sigh. The soldiers were right. More of their comrades were fighting and needed help. They could not delay here.

Boyang sighed. "Very well, take care of yourselves."

Rongzhao added, "I will leave some medicine. It should help you."

They handed the soldiers a small bottle of medicine and resumed their journey toward the heart of the Chasm.

Behind them, the Millelith watched their retreating figures with respect. Their gazes lingered especially on Bosacius, with his four powerful arms and towering form. Some of them seemed to recall something.

"That yaksha looks familiar. I recall hearing legends of the five foremost yakshas in Liyue Harbor. One of them was said to be born with four arms and unsurpassed in battle."

"The five foremost yakshas? Could it really be them? Which one was he?"

"Marshal Bosacius. He resembles him, but I cannot say for certain. If it truly is one of the five foremost yakshas, the Chasm may yet be saved."

Hope flickered in the soldiers' eyes as they watched the group depart. To them, the five foremost yakshas represented Liyue's highest fighting power. Their presence alone was a comfort.

A moment later, they applied Rongzhao's medicine to their wounds, formed up again, and took their positions on the vital routes out of the Chasm, determined not to let a single monster escape.

Meanwhile, pushing deeper into the Chasm, Boyang, Rongzhao, and the others, having witnessed Bosacius's power time and again, decided not to waste any more time. They quickened their pace, rushing with all their strength toward the depths.

Along the way, they saw countless monster corpses and the bodies of Millelith soldiers. They saw broken spears discarded on the cliffs, silent testimony to the fierce battles that had been fought there.

About an hour later, Bosacius, Boyang, and the others finally reached the heart of the Chasm, its central region. In peacetime, this area had been the richest mining zone in the Chasm, supporting countless people. But now, the blood of monsters and Millelith alike had stained the earth red.

As they entered the central region, they were immediately attacked by tens of thousands of monsters. Even the powerful Bosacius found himself struggling against such numbers, locked in a bitter fight. Boyang and Rongzhao used their abilities to activate the Taisui Compass, helping him slay the creatures.

Still, the monsters pressed forward, forcing them to retreat. Just as Bosacius was fighting desperately and the shamans had been pushed to the edge of a cliff, a great cry went up.

A large force of Millelith soldiers charged out from a narrow passage, instantly turning the tide of battle.

"They're the main Millelith forces!"

"We are shamans who have come to help!"
