A man in a devil costume swings through the streets of New York at high speeds. This man is a lawyer by day and vigilante by night, he is Matt Murdoch aka Daredevil and he is being hunted by the Anti Vigilante Task Force (AVTF). It's been a month since Poindexter aka the notorious Bullseye attempted to assassinate the Mayor and arch nemesis of our hero Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin. Matt saved the life of his sworn enemy and his reward for his selfless actions were his home being destroyed by the AVTF and becoming a wanted man. Despite this he still opposes Fisk's tyranny and now that the life of Matt Murdoch seems to be over he is Daredevil full time. He won't stop or rest until he has taken his city back but Fisk has full control of the law now and will use it against him.
Fisk created the AVTF to put an end to vigilantism but the real reason is so he can eliminate his enemies. The likes of Spider-Man, The Punisher and most of all the man he hates more than anything in the world Daredevil. This is why AVTF hunts him relentlessly and tonight they went so far as to force a woman on the street walking home to lure Daredevil by pretending she needed help. Of course Daredevil rushed in to help the women only to be met by armed forces surrounding him. Now swinging across the streets during the night with his trusty billy clubs while AVTF armed vehicles chase him he thinks about how his morality has been used against him.
"I should have known Fisk would turn my morality into a weapon he can use against me"
He thought to himself.
"But involving innocent bystanders, the people he's supposed to protect is low even for him."
Fisk doesn't care about morals, he will bend and twist the law as he sees fit. He has legalized his own private army and the danger has never been so high for Daredevil and everyone who opposes Fisk. Snipers are on the roof tops of 10th Avenue as they wait for their target to pass by so they can pounce. Fortunately for Daredevil his radar sense allows him to hear the snipers communicate with each other. So instead of going the route that was predetermined for him he swings onto the closest roof top and kicks one of the snipers in the face knocking them back. He runs on the roof as snipers start shooting him from the other side realizing that he didn't fall for their plan.
An agent gets in front of him and shouts "FREEZE!"
But this agent would have been better off if he did nothing because Daredevil flips over him and hits him with his billy club in the jaw that causes a loud crunching noise. This results in the agent's jaw being broken and now he is unconscious. Daredevil jumps off the roof and continues to keep swinging trying to get away as fast as possible. The AVTF are back on his trail, guns blazing. The loud thundering sound the guns create causes distress amongst those who are on the streets, They all scramble to try to find something to hide behind. In one of the AVTF trucks a man called Sergeant Blake who is the leader of this operation gets a phone call from his boss, Mayor Fisk. Blake answers the phone and a voice with a gravitating presence simply asks
"Have you managed to capture the Devil yet Sergeant Blake?"
Blake, now extremely nervous, responds with.
"N…no sir, he managed to escape the trap but we're close to capturing sir."
"We just need more…"
Fisk interrupts by saying.
"I don't want to hear excuses, sergeant, fortunately I made the necessary preparations for this current predicament."
"Tell your forces to stand down, my assassin will take over this operation."
Fisk cuts the phone and Blake immediately turns on his radio and tells all his forces to stand down and these orders come from the Mayor. Daredevil notices that the AVTF forces have stopped pursuing him and thinks to himself.
"Something's not right, they wouldn't just give up Fisk would never allow that so why have they stopped chasing me?"
He is swinging close to Hells Kitchen park but suddenly someone out of nowhere drops kicks him mid swing causing Daredevil to fall on top of an apartment roof top that is across from the park. The kick is so fast he can't react and worst of all it feels like he's been hit in the face with a hammer. He is in shock, no ordinary person can get the drop on him without his notice. The only people who have ever been able to do that were his old mentor Stick, his first love Elektra and one of his greatest opponents Nobu who was a skilled warrior in the organization known as the Hand.
Daredevil senses the man staring at him like he's looking into his soul. Plagued by curiosity he asks him.
"You're no ordinary fighter, everyone who could sneak up on me like that is dead so who are you?"
The mysterious man replies.
"You're right, I'm no ordinary fighter, I'm a devil, a real one."
Daredevil looks in confusion and the mysterious man continues.
"You're a fraud."
"You call yourself a devil but you have a pure heart, you don't even kill those who deserve it."
"Last year you could have become a true devil when you threw that deranged assassin Bullseye off that roof."
"But instead you retired and worst of all you didn't even kill the man, such a disappointment".
Daredevil asks him.
"Have you been watching me?"
The man replies with.
"Oh yes i've been observing you for a long time, my name is Ikari, former member of the hand and the true devil".
Daredevil is in shock he did not expect any members of the hand to be still in New York after the battle that took the life of his beloved Elektra and almost his own. While pacing around the roof he asks Ikari
"You said you were the true devil, what exactly does that mean?"
Ikari responds with
"Can't you tell?"
"I am you. Or rather I'm what you should be."
"Devils aren't supposed to protect people, they're supposed to inflict pain and cause chaos."
"I have the same abilities as you do so it's only fighting that I show you what a real devil looks like."
Ikari of course doesn't realise Daredevil is blind. His suit is a replica of Daredevils that is a combination of all the suits Daredevil has worn. The base of the suit is a yellow fabric that includes a hood, the chest piece is a traditional Japanese style armour that is black and red. It has a symbol which is the Japanese character for his name that translates to fury. His boots are black with hints of yellow, he wears tactical gloves with white tape wrapped around his arms all the way to his elbows and finally the piece that completes the suit is a replica of Daredevil's cowl with the addition of a black bandana mask to hide his face. This man has a serious obsession with Daredevil and intends to replace him. Daredevil chuckles and asks Ikari.
"Fisk hired you didn't he?"
"He must be really desperate to work with a former enemy."
Ikari responded with
"He and I agree that you need to be destroyed and when that happens the only devil in this city will be me."
Daredevil is done listening to this mad man and he tells Ikari
"Enough talk, shall we get started?."
He grins at Ikari eager to start the fight. This is the son of Battlin Jack Murdoch after all and he loves the thrill of battle. Both take combative stances waiting to see who will make the first move. Ikari pulls out to sickle blades that were on his back and races towards Daredevil, the battle has now begun.
Daredevil can hear Ikari's blades cutting through the air as he dashes towards him. He flips over Ikari just as he's about to strike but Ikari reacts quickly and turns 180 degrees in an attempt to slash Daredevil with his blades. Daredevil is able to pull out his billy club to block the attack and both of them are now locked in a stalemate. They're both trying to break out of the stalemate and when they do a flurry of attacks begins. Daredevil is surprised that Ikari is perfectly mimicking his moves, he thinks to himself that maybe Ikari really does have the same abilities as he does. If he has radar sense that would explain how Ikari can perfectly counter his moves.
Ikari manages to damage Daredevil's suit by relentlessly attacking him with slashes using his blades. Daredevil manages to evade and deflect a lot of the attacks but some manage to get past his defenses and cut through the suit. Punch after punch, kick after kick Daredevil is becoming exhausted. He's getting frustrated and lets out a primal scream and then throws his billy club hoping it will deflect into Ikari's face which would give him a window to attack. However Ikari keeps deflecting them back at Daredevil using his blades. Daredevil does a spin kick but he makes a mistake in his movements and Ikari, as fast as lightning grabs his opportunity and sucker punches Daredevil. He's hit the ground hard, he can taste the concrete on his lips and the blood that's coming out of his mouth. Ikari tells him.
"I told you we're the same, I know what you're going to do before you do."
"You've put up a good fight for a fraud but there can only be one devil and you don't have the resolve to do what needs to be done to defeat me."
Daredevil thinks to himself.
"He's right, he can sense what I'm about to do just like I can."
"There has to be a way to defeat him, he might dress like a devil but he's still a man."
Daredevil comes to an important realization.
"Wait, that's it. If he's just like me then he has the same weaknesses."
"There should be a church a couple blocks from here, I know exactly what to do."
Daredevil gets up from the ground. He is in a lot of pain, his whole body aches and he can feel some broken bones. He gets himself in position and Ikari does the same, expecting another attack. Daredevil however turns around and jumps off the roof swinging away from Ikari. He is surprised that Daredevil is running away. Ikari makes chase and follows him by jumping across roof tops like a ninja. They're close to the church and Daredevil goes straight for the top of the bell tower. Ikari shortly follows and enters the bell tower but there's no one here. He realizes that Daredevil must be hiding which angers him. Ikari exclaims.
"So the fraud is also a coward, I expected more from the great Daredevil."
"Is this the warrior trained by the ruthless Stick?"
"Is this the man who defeated the great Nobu, twice?"
"I refuse to accept this, you can't be that warrior."
Ikari shouts.
"Come out and face me!"
His frustration is causing him to lose focus; this is Daredevil's chance to strike. He emerges from the shadows, grabs the bell rope and starts ringing it as loud as he can. Ikari is startled and because of his heightened senses the noise of the bell is agonizing. The dings and dongs of the bell are so loud that he feels like his head is going to explode. Daredevil can also feel the pain that the noise from the bells create but he's trained himself to block out sounds so he's withstanding it. Ikari screams in pain and is now immobilized.
Daredevil wastes no time and does a back heel spin kick right in Ikari's face, it's a stone cold knockout. The fight is over and there is no doubt that Daredevil is the true devil of Hell's Kitchen. He drags him downstairs to the chapel. The priest making preparations for a morning service gets frightened fearing that the devil has breached the house of god. Daredevil approaches him and apologizes for the disturbance. He asks the persist to call the police so Ikari can be arrested. The priest nods confirming he'll do what he asks but he's too startled to say a word.
