"Hello, hello. I've heard so much about you, I-lame Guren."
Luke ran in front of Guren, and although he was calling him the wrong name, he was as enthusiastic as an old friend reuniting after a long separation.
Guren didn't have the time to dwell on the name Luke called him, as his hand moved to his waist to draw mahiru no yoru.
Krul kicked out directly, and before Guren could react, mahiru no yoru was kicked away.
Guren looked at his empty hands, then at Krul, his expression complex.
Well, she had indeed gone easy on him just now.
Luke climbed onto Guren's shoulder, moving Guren a few steps every now and then to dodge Hiiragi Seishiro's long-range spear attacks.
"Don't be so hostile; I'm here to make a deal with you."
Guren looked wary, but he still raised an eyebrow and asked.
"What deal?"
Luke smiled and pointed to Hiiragi Shinya, who was arguing with Hiiragi Kureto outside the barrier.
"Look, your companion is defying his superior for your safety. Aren't you touched?"
Hiiragi Shinya vaguely guessed the reason Guren wouldn't leave the barrier. Guren had told him that Hiiragi Mahiru had modified his body; perhaps Guren was no longer defined as human.
Luke tilted his head, dodging a spear.
"That's none of your... you... bastard!"
Before Guren could finish his sentence, he took a solid punch to the stomach. Luke withdrew his fist and kicked Guren to the ground.
"We're friends, so of course it's my business. Don't say such things that hurt our feelings next time, or I'll be so sad that I'll kill you."
Luke pulled out one of the Seraph's spears stuck in the ground; it was a bit too light, but it would do.
While Luke used the spear to knock down incoming spears, he asked.
"Your friend only has two years left, right?"
Ignoring the pain, Guren quickly stood up, his eyes fixed on Luke, and asked in an incredulous tone.
"How do you know? Did Ferid tell you?"
Krul tilted her head in confusion and frowned at Luke. How was this related to that annoying fellow Ferid?
"I'll explain when we get home."
Luke smiled at Krul.
Hiiragi Seishiro, who had been acting as a mechanical turret for a while, finally realized that this alone wouldn't do anything to these three ants.
The strange wings behind him folded in front of his body, and a ball of fire spread from his eyes to his entire body. He stopped firing spears, and all the spears on the field, including the one in Luke's hand, vanished into thin air. Hiiragi Seishiro transformed into a winged fire man and charged forward.
Luke saw Hiiragi Seishiro covered in flames and felt he looked a bit cool. He said to Guren.
"It doesn't matter how I know. How about this: you take down this Seraph, and I'll teach you how to extend your companion's life."
Guren's face stiffened. This was no laughing matter. There was a Seraph imprisoned back at his home, and its power couldn't be fully sealed; even if the one before him was a fake, it wasn't something he could contend with.
"No need. I'm not very interested. I've already found a way."
Luke shook his head while leading Hiiragi Seishiro away, unsatisfied with Guren's answer.
"Then I'll have to use some extreme measures."
Guren frowned.
"Hey, white-haired handsome guy over there! Did you know? Eight years ago, you actually..."
Hiiragi Shinya, whose request to open the barrier had been firmly rejected, was observing the injuries of his other companions when he suddenly heard Luke's voice and turned to look.
"Stop! Stop! Stop!"
Guren finally panicked and quickly interrupted Luke. He grabbed mahiru no yoru from the ground nearby and, with black lines of exasperation on his face, charged at Hiiragi Seishiro.
Krul watched from the side, completely in the dark. What kind of riddles were these two speaking in? Whatever, she would ask Luke when they got back; she doubted he would dare hide anything from her.
With Guren fighting Hiiragi Seishiro, Luke successfully slipped away and returned to Krul's side.
In the middle of the battlefield, mahiru no yoru's Demonic Aura was ignited by Hiiragi Seishiro's flames, and Guren's Curse Talismans had negligible effect on Hiiragi Seishiro.
Krul was somewhat curious about Luke's next move. Now that the barrier was active, with the curse power of over twenty people supporting it, even Krul would need some time to break it, and the Imperial Demon Army certainly wouldn't just wait around for her to do so.
"This human definitely can't beat that monster. We'll be the next targets."
Luke just smiled confidently.
"It's fine, my Imperial Arm is almost here."
Krul didn't understand, and she frowned but didn't ask further.
Outside the barrier, Hiiragi Kureto's face grew darker and darker.
"What on earth is that bastard doing? If he won't withdraw, fine, but he's even helping those two Vampires resist the Seraph. Is he possessed by a demon again?"
"Lieutenant General, should we open the barrier? Lieutenant Colonel Guren seems to be failing. Perhaps something is wrong with the barrier, and he can't get out."
Hiiragi Kureto was silent for a few seconds before saying firmly.
"No. Both of these Vampires are extremely powerful beings. If we seal them into cursed gear, they will surely be two more Black Demon-class weapons, and we can also weaken the Vampires' power. We must not open the barrier!"
Five minutes later.
Guren was enveloped in flames and collapsed from exhaustion. Then, a deep red aura drifted out of mahiru no yoru and entered Guren's body. No one noticed this except for Luke; they only felt that Guren was likely going to die.
Having finished off one target, Hiiragi Seishiro immediately flew toward Luke and Krul like a beast.
Krul knew this was a formidable enemy. She signaled Alucard on her shoulder with her eyes, preparing to take this Seraph seriously.
Luke pressed down on Alucard and shook his head, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.
"Sword, come!"
A sword hum rang out from outside the barrier. The Imperial Demon Army soldiers instinctively looked over as a rainbow of sword light flashed past. The heads of three Imperial Demon Army soldiers maintaining the barrier flew off, and pillars of blood shot into the sky.
Hiiragi Kureto's face was as dark as water; the barrier had been broken from the outside!
"Retreat!"
Whether it was the uncontrollable Hiiragi Seishiro, Luke, or Krul, they had no way to resist them and could only retreat for now.
After today's battle, Hiiragi Kureto had a more direct sense of the Vampires' combat strength. At least until he could create a controllable Seraph, he would not risk exterminating the Vampires outside the walls again.
After Kyle finished the kills, the sword blade flashed three times and landed in Luke's hand in the middle of the field.
"This is your sword?!"
Krul looked in astonishment at the malevolent demonic sword in Luke's hand, then at the cute Alucard on his shoulder, finding it unbelievable.
It was the first time she had observed Luke's weapon so directly.
Luke felt its power and couldn't help but shout.
"Holy craaaaap! How many did you freaking kill? A 28% bonus!"
The sword blade buzzed, as if saying: "Am I impressive, Brother Kyle?"
"Hurry up and slash; five buffs are about to expire."
Luke felt the enhancement provided by the demonic sword. Entranced, he couldn't help but perform a sword flourish.
"No matter, I will take action!"
After saying that, he charged toward Hiiragi Seishiro.
Hiiragi Seishiro's flames couldn't burn the demonic sword's Demonic Aura, and while Hiiragi Seishiro attacked with the sharp bone spikes of his wings, they couldn't harm Luke at all.
Luke gradually gained the upper hand, and the wounds on Hiiragi Seishiro's body inflicted by the demonic sword could not be healed.
After a few moves, Luke found an opportunity and delivered a heavy downward strike from Hiiragi Seishiro's right shoulder, splitting him in two.
Hiiragi Seishiro died on the spot, but the flames on his body continued to burn as if they could never be extinguished.
"Is this part of a Seraph's authority? Eh, what's this?"
Luke picked up a small dagger fragment that had fallen out of Hiiragi Seishiro's body. As soon as the fragment left the body, the flames on Hiiragi Seishiro immediately went out.
Suddenly, Miku jumped out, and a light screen expanded.
"First contact with the important item 'sin key' from 'seraph of the end'. You have unlocked the ultimate mission for this world!"
Mission: Collect seven sin keys
Time Limit: None
Reward: Official Main Heavenly Dao Agent
Penalty: Stripped of your status as a Main Heavenly Dao Agent candidate (you will only possess the Golden finger authority of this Sub-world)
Luke felt as if his brain had been struck hard, left dizzy by this sudden mission.
"What do you mean... Heavenly Dao Agent candidate? You mean I only had a trial card before?!"
Luke looked at the sin key fragment in his hand, and information popped up on the light screen.
Item: Second Sin Key (Fake)
Introduction: Preliminary progress has been made in humanity's Seraph Experiment. Perhaps one more step could truly allow the Second Angel to descend upon the world? But for now, it is still a fake.
Value: Not fully formed, the power within has dissipated; it is already a piece of sturdy scrap metal.
Krul walked to Luke's side. Seeing him dazed by the piece of metal in his hand, she poked his face.
"Let's go. The Imperial Demon Army has retreated, so we should go back too. In the end, there was no news of my brother."
Luke snapped out of it and put away the demonic sword. Guren's 'corpse' had also been taken away by the Imperial Demon Army.
"Then let's go. I'll give you a surprise when we get back."
Luke ran in front of Krul and asked.
"Doesn't it feel particularly interesting coming out this time?"
Krul walked past Luke, looking down at the bracelet on her right hand.
"Mm-hmm, it was alright."
When they had walked far away, a figure appeared beside Hiiragi Seishiro's corpse.
"Lord Ferid should be interested in this..."
This was none other than the Lower-ranking Vampire who had gone missing at the very beginning of the battle!
