Chapter 121 - Chapter 121: Ferid: I Want to Rise So Badly

The Imperial Demon Army suffered a crushing defeat, and the Vampires took the opportunity to march toward Shibuya.

With the Four Horsemen of John clearing the way, they broke through the outer defense lines of Shibuya in just three hours.

Shibuya Military Headquarters.

Hiiragi Tenri sat alone in his seat, his expression unreadable.

Whenever an Imperial Demon Army soldier ran in panic to report where the Vampires had attacked, Hiiragi Tenri would simply wave his hand and dismiss them.

He seemed to have resigned himself to fate, or perhaps he was waiting for something.

After a while, the sound of footsteps echoed, and Hiiragi Tenri looked up.

"Are you the leader of the Imperial Demon Army? Why is it an old man?"

Crowley snapped the neck of the Imperial Demon Army soldier in his hand and tossed him aside like trash.

Hiiragi Tenri stood up, giving an irrelevant answer.

"It seems Kureto does not have the qualifications to inherit the will of the old god."

Neither Ferid nor Crowley understood the meaning of Hiiragi Tenri's words.

"Old man, what are you talking about? Keeping such a stiff face all the time will make you die faster~ Ah, my apologies, you're already about to die!"

Hiiragi Tenri still did not answer, his arrogance absolute.

Seeing that Hiiragi Tenri would not communicate normally, Crowley drew his sword and let it enter its blood-drinking state.

With no more words, he attacked Hiiragi Tenri directly; as long as they killed the head of the Imperial Demon Army, the Vampires could dominate Japan.

Although dominating Japan wasn't the direct goal for Crowley and Ferid, killing the leader of the Imperial Demon Army would significantly boost their prestige among the Vampires.

Ferid felt it was better than nothing.

Despite facing just a human old man, neither Ferid nor Crowley lowered their guard.

Sure enough, facing Crowley's attack, Hiiragi Tenri simply waved his hand, and chains shot out from his palm.

Crowley's face showed surprise at the sudden appearance of the chains.

"Is this a human? Why would something like this be inside his body?"

Crowley slashed the chains aside.

However, the chains used the momentum to loop behind him, intending to bind Crowley completely. At that moment, Ferid approached, slashed down with his sword, and pinned the chains under his foot.

The chains could no longer move.

Crowley took the opportunity to leap high and dive down toward Hiiragi Tenri.

In the face of this, Hiiragi Tenri's face remained calm, ignoring Crowley's attack.

This left both Ferid and Crowley very confused.

Crowley delivered a diagonal slash, cutting Hiiragi Tenri in half, but Crowley frowned.

He didn't feel the sensation of cutting through flesh.

Retreat!

Sensing something was wrong, Crowley prepared to pull back.

But Hiiragi Tenri gave a weird smile.

Instead of blood gushing out from Hiiragi Tenri's severed body, over a dozen chains emerged!

The chains wrapped around Crowley's arm like maggots on a bone.

Crowley felt that when the chains touched him, they frantically suppressed his power.

Crowley made a split-second decision, tore off his own arm, and retreated quickly!

Ferid couldn't help but frown as well.

The chains were retracted by Hiiragi Tenri, and Crowley's arm, wrapped in chains, entered Hiiragi Tenri's body. Hiiragi Tenri's body quickly restored itself.

Crowley scratched his head with his other hand, looking troubled.

"This is going to be troublesome."

A Vampire's recovery ability is faster than a human's, but it has its limits. Regenerating a lost limb on the battlefield through natural recovery alone was basically a fantasy.

Hiiragi Tenri recovered; aside from his clothes being sliced open, not a single injury could be seen.

"Vampires are merely pawns in the hands of the old god. Your haste to rule Japan does not align with the old god's will."

Ferid pondered the meaning of those words, his pupils suddenly shrinking as he thought of some possibilities.

Crowley, however, wasn't in the mood for research.

"Old man, can you give me back my hand? Otherwise, I'll take it myself!"

...Luke and Krul finally arrived in Shibuya.

They had originally intended to come with the main force, but something had been forgotten because of the matter with Guren.

Luke walked down the road, holding a rope in his hand.

The other end of the rope was tied to three people.

Shinoa Hiragi complained.

"Let us go! Aren't you on our side?"

Luke turned around and walked backward.

"Who's on your side? Saving you was just a matter of convenience."

Mitsuba couldn't help but retort.

"Then why doesn't this guy have to be tied up?"

Mitsuba looked at Shihō Kimizuki, who was walking alongside them while carrying Mirai Kimizuki on his back.

"He's a siscon."

"Huh?"

Shihō Kimizuki was also bewildered. What did that mean?

Luke explained.

"I really admire people who dote on their sisters, so I gave him a privilege. Besides, as long as I have you guys on the rope, he won't run off alone."

In truth, Luke was just lazy; he needed someone to carry the unconscious Mirai Kimizuki, but he didn't want to tie him up for fear he'd run.

So, Shihō Kimizuki was the best vehicle.

The group was speechless.

It seemed Yuichiro was destined not to find his companions upon returning to Shinjuku.

Luke smiled, turned back around, and his expression became confused.

He had been so busy chatting that he hadn't noticed he missed a turn, and now he was facing a field of rubble from collapsed buildings.

It seemed the destructive power of the Four Horsemen of John was indeed top-tier.

Luke looked at Krul beside him.

"Where are we?"

"Japan."

Luke:... Krul smiled and shrugged with an innocent little expression.

"I'm just following you. You're the guide; I'll go wherever you go."

Luke was silent for a moment before asking.

"Aren't you the Vampire Queen?"

Krul nodded seriously.

"I am."

"Hasn't the main Vampire force attacked Shibuya?"

Krul nodded again.

"They have."

Luke finally asked.

"Then if I've gone the wrong way, shouldn't you correct my direction and head toward where the main force is?"

Krul thought for a moment and shook her head.

"No!"

"Why?!"

Krul smiled radiantly and said matter-of-factly.

"Because I don't know which way to go either. I haven't been here much, so how would I know the directions?"

Luke didn't believe her and continued to ask.

"You know the direction of Shibuya; you should be able to tell the direction just by looking at the sun."

"I hate the sun."

Luke threw up his hands in surrender; he could see that Krul was just teasing him.

"Don't tell me Sanguinem would fall apart without me; Her Majesty isn't even pro... active about fighting~ Stop pinching me, sis!"

Luke's voice turned into a tremolo as he spoke.

Boom!

At that moment, a dull sound rang out in the distance, sounding like a building collapsing.

Luke and Krul looked toward the sound and saw a figure flying into the air; from the posture, it looked like they had been sent flying by a blow.

Luke squinted and looked closely.

An old man, surrounded by black chains.

Hiiragi Tenri!

Just as Luke recognized the man, Hiiragi Tenri began to fall, and then two figures moved toward where he was about to land.

Ferid and Crowley!

They were actually dealing with the Imperial Demon Army seriously! It seemed there were times when they didn't fight among themselves.

Luke guessed Ferid's intention to use this to gain prestige.

Ferid wanted to rise so badly!

Without another word, Luke naturally wouldn't give them the chance and rushed over there, handing the rope to Krul before leaving.

Krul looked at the rope in her hand, then at Shinoa Hiragi and the others who were smiling at her.

"Hello, Queen, ahaha~"

"Mm."

...A few minutes later, Shinoa Hiragi and the others, including Shihō Kimizuki, had all fainted and were placed haphazardly to the side by Krul.

Watching over people who can't move is so much easier than watching over energetic ones!
