Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Night She Fell Into Hell

The night the portal opened, the sky itself seemed to tremble.

Lyria Vale had never believed in demons, ancient realms, or cursed destinies. To her, those things belonged to stories whispered by old storytellers and dusty books buried deep inside forgotten libraries.

The real world was ordinary—cold winds, quiet forests, and the lonely road she walked every evening on her way home.

But that night, something was wrong.

The air felt heavier than usual, thick like an invisible storm pressing down on her chest. The forest around her was silent—too silent. Even the insects that normally chirped in the darkness had vanished, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

Lyria tightened her coat around herself and quickened her pace along the narrow dirt path. The moon hung low above the trees, pale and watchful, casting silver light across the ground.

Then the wind stopped.

Not slowed.

Stopped.

Completely.

A strange chill crept down her spine. Lyria froze mid-step, her instincts screaming that something was terribly wrong.

The shadows behind her moved.

At first she thought it was just her imagination—branches swaying or clouds passing over the moon. But the darkness stretched unnaturally along the ground, twisting like living smoke.

A faint glow appeared in the middle of the path.

Soft at first.

Then brighter.

The air cracked with a sound like shattering glass.

Lyria gasped as a circle of swirling crimson light tore open before her eyes. The ground beneath her feet vibrated violently as the portal expanded, its edges burning with dark energy that looked almost alive.

"What… is that?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

She had never seen magic before.

But deep inside her chest, something recognized it.

The portal pulsed once.

Twice.

Then the wind exploded outward.

The force knocked her backward onto the ground. Dirt and leaves scattered into the air as the crimson vortex roared like a living storm.

Lyria tried to crawl away, panic flooding her veins.

But the portal had already chosen her.

Invisible power wrapped around her body like chains.

And pulled.

"No—!"

Her scream vanished into the darkness as the world shattered around her.

For a moment, there was nothing.

No sound.

No light.

Only endless falling.

Then—

Impact.

Cold marble slammed against her palms as she crashed onto the floor. The air smelled strange, thick with smoke and something darker… something metallic.

Blood.

Lyria groaned softly, her head spinning as she pushed herself upright.

The room around her was enormous.

Towering black pillars stretched toward a ceiling lost in shadow. Crimson torches burned along the walls, their flames casting eerie light across ancient stone carvings.

But what truly froze the breath inside her lungs… were the eyes staring at her.

Dozens of them.

Creatures surrounded the massive hall—tall figures with horns, glowing irises, and wings folded like shadows behind their backs. Their presence radiated a suffocating aura that made the air feel heavier with every passing second.

Demons.

Real demons.

Whispers erupted across the chamber.

"A human…?"

"How did she get here?"

"Impossible…"

Lyria's heart pounded violently against her ribs as she slowly stood.

Every instinct inside her screamed to run.

But her legs refused to move.

Because at the far end of the hall… someone else was watching her.

Unlike the others, he was seated on a throne carved entirely from black stone.

The man looked almost human.

Almost.

Dark hair fell across his forehead like midnight silk, and his sharp features were illuminated by the crimson glow of the torches. But his eyes—

His eyes were not human.

They burned with molten gold.

Ancient.

Cold.

Terrifyingly powerful.

The moment his gaze locked onto hers, the entire hall fell silent.

Even the demons around her lowered their heads.

Lyria didn't know his name.

But somehow, she understood exactly who he was.

The ruler of this world.

The Demon King.

Kael Draven.

He did not move for several seconds. His golden eyes studied her slowly, carefully, as if examining something unexpected that had appeared in his kingdom.

Then he stood.

The simple motion sent a ripple of fear across the entire hall.

His presence alone felt overwhelming—like standing in front of a storm that could destroy everything with a single command.

Kael descended the steps of his throne with calm, measured steps.

Each footstep echoed across the marble floor.

Closer.

Closer.

Until he stopped directly in front of her.

Lyria realized she was trembling.

She hated it.

But she couldn't stop.

The Demon King tilted his head slightly, studying her face with unsettling curiosity.

"A human," he said softly.

His voice was low and smooth—yet it carried a quiet authority that filled the entire chamber.

One of the demons stepped forward quickly.

"My king," the creature said, bowing deeply. "Shall we execute her immediately? Humans cannot exist within the demon realm."

Murmurs of agreement spread through the hall.

Lyria's heart dropped.

So this was how she would die.

Dragged into some nightmare world and killed by monsters she didn't even believe existed yesterday.

But the Demon King did not answer immediately.

Instead, his gaze remained fixed on her.

Slowly… he reached out.

Lyria flinched as his fingers lifted her chin gently, forcing her to meet his burning golden eyes.

The contact sent a strange warmth through her body.

Something ancient.

Something dangerous.

For a brief moment, Kael's expression changed.

Not anger.

Not cruelty.

Interest.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Curious," he murmured.

The demon general frowned. "My king?"

Kael released her chin and turned toward the watching court.

"This human," he said calmly, "is not to be harmed."

Shock rippled through the chamber.

"But—Your Majesty—"

"She stays."

His voice remained quiet.

Yet the command carried absolute finality.

No one dared argue.

The Demon King looked back at Lyria.

His golden eyes darkened slightly as a faint, almost amused smile touched his lips.

"You appeared in my palace without invitation," he said slowly.

His gaze traveled over her like a predator studying prey.

"Which means… you now belong to me."

Lyria's breath caught in her throat.

Belong?

The word sent a strange mix of anger and fear through her chest.

"I'm not your property," she said suddenly.

The entire hall froze.

Demons stared at her in disbelief.

No one spoke to the Demon King like that.

Kael's eyebrow lifted slightly.

Then—

To everyone's shock—

He laughed.

Not loudly.

Just a quiet, dangerous chuckle.

"Interesting," he murmured.

For the first time in centuries…

Something inside the Demon King had awakened.

And every creature in the demon realm would soon learn a terrifying truth.

The fragile human girl standing in his throne room...

Had just become the most dangerous obsession the Demon King had ever known.

And when the ruler of hell becomes obsessed with something—

The entire world burns.
