They both did what they had to do, and soon they were out of the zoo. Sebastian buckled up his seatbelt, and Dylan, this time, made sure to fasten his properly on his own without any help.
Then the ride began.
It was so silent that one could hear a pin drop. The air between them felt heavy, almost suffocating. Sebastian kept his eyes fixed on the road, his expression unreadable, and not even once did he glance at Dylan. The tension stretched on for so long that Dylan eventually felt the need to break it.
"You see… there's actually nothing going on between us. He's just a stranger, like I said," Dylan spoke, his voice trying to sound casual but falling slightly flat.
"Dylan, please, I'm not interested in this conversation," Sebastian replied, his tone calm but firm, his gaze never leaving the road.
Dylan's mouth twitched in frustration. He was clearly avoiding it, and it wouldn't help, so he exhaled and leaned back slightly.
"Fine… I'll just say everything."
