Kai and Elena moved quickly through the ruined streets, the void aura around him acting like an invisible shield.
Elena stayed close, but she kept trying to maintain a small distance whenever she could. Her torn blouse was damp with sweat, clinging to her full breasts. She was still trying to process what had just happened — the same Kai she once mocked was now moving with unnatural speed and strength. And worse, her body was reacting in ways that terrified and humiliated her.
"We can't keep running forever," Kai said, voice low. "We need a place to rest and plan."
Elena nodded reluctantly, arms crossed over her chest. "That supermarket we passed earlier… it looked relatively intact. But I'm not staying with you longer than necessary. Don't get any ideas."
Kai glanced at her, a faint dark smile tugging at his lips. "We'll see about that."
They hadn't gone far when the first pack attacked.
Three shadow hounds burst from a collapsed storefront, snarling and leaping straight at them.
Kai reacted instantly.
Shadow Step.
He vanished and reappeared behind the lead hound. Void Claw slashed across its spine with brutal force. Black blood sprayed as the beast screamed and collapsed. The second hound lunged at Elena. Kai grabbed her waist, yanked her tight against his chest and activated Void Drain. Dark tendrils sank deep into the creature. It howled in agony as its life force was ripped away and poured into him.

Power surged through Kai's veins. His muscles felt denser, his reflexes sharper. The void whispered inside him:

The third hound tried to flee. Kai chased it down with another Shadow Step and crushed its skull with a single savage strike.
He stood there breathing heavily. Elena pushed him away with both hands, face flushed with anger and embarrassment.
"Get your hands off me," she snapped, voice shaky. "I didn't ask you to grab me like that. This… whatever this aura is… it's messing with my head. Just stay away from me, Kai."
Kai didn't let go immediately. His hand stayed on her waist, thumb brushing her hip slowly. "Your body says otherwise."
Elena's cheeks burned hotter. She slapped his hand away, but the motion lacked real strength. "Shut up. That's not true. You're imagining things. I don't… I don't feel anything for you. This is wrong."
But even as she said the words, her thighs pressed together tightly, trying to hide the growing dampness between her legs. The heat was spreading, making it hard to think straight.
They continued moving. Less than five minutes later, a larger threat appeared — a Shadow Beast almost three meters tall with jagged bone spikes protruding from its back.
It charged straight at them without warning.
Kai pushed Elena behind an overturned car and met the beast head-on. He used Shadow Step to dodge its massive claws, then slammed his palm into its side and unleashed Void Drain at maximum power. The beast roared, thrashing wildly, its spikes slashing the air inches from Kai's face. He held on, draining faster, feeling the raw power flood into him as the void inside him laughed with dark satisfaction.

The beast finally collapsed, dissolving into shadow essence that rushed into Kai's body.
He turned back to Elena. She was breathing hard, eyes dark with conflicted desire and anger. The aura was hitting her even harder now. Her thighs pressed together instinctively as another wave of heat washed over her, her core throbbing against her will.
"Stop it," she said, voice trembling. "Whatever you're doing to me… just stop. I don't want this. I don't want you."
Kai walked toward her slowly. "Your body disagrees."
Before she could reply, they reached the supermarket. They slipped inside and barricaded the main entrance with heavy shelves. Kai claimed the manager's office at the back as their temporary base.
He accepted the quest. A faint dark barrier shimmered around the building.

Elena stepped closer, her body still flushed. "You're getting stronger every hour."
Kai walked toward her. The aura wrapped around her. She shivered as heat bloomed across her skin.
He reached out, fingers brushing her cheek, then resting on her waist, pulling her closer.
"You feel it too," he said quietly. "The way your body reacts every time I grow stronger."
Elena's breath hitched. Her hands pressed against his chest. "It's getting harder to fight this…"
Kai pulled her closer until their bodies were pressed together. His thumb traced her lower lip, then moved down her neck. Elena's eyes fluttered, a soft sound escaping her as the heat between her legs intensified.
"Not yet," he whispered against her ear. "When I take you, you'll be the one begging."
He slowly released her, leaving Elena flushed and breathing hard.
