Within a minute, while Tessa was still staring at Leonard in disbelief, huge piles of vines, reeds, branches, and sticks appeared before her.
Tessa blinked.
"That was fast."
"We wish to help make your plan a success."
The snake beastmen nodded eagerly, waiting for more instructions.
For a moment, Tessa couldn't help looking at them with a softer gaze than usual. They weren't acting vicious. If anything, they looked strangely enthusiastic.
Still, the distance between them remained.
She hadn't forgotten that they were snakes.
Very large snakes.
"Alright," she said. "Let's move everything to the clearing and get these traps ready."
Immediately, the males obeyed.
Tessa naturally slipped into a leadership role while Leonard stayed close beside her, helping whenever she asked.
Like a very devoted husband.
The thought nearly made her choke.
Over the next two hours, Tessa tried teaching the snake beastmen how to weave fish traps.
