The order for building the smoke tower began with Tessa listing out the necessary materials in a clear, practical voice.
"Okay, now we get some wooden poles—which I assume should be more than four—along with vines or rope, anything your hands can work with. Stones, damp leaves, green branches, and dry wood for starting the fire."
Her words left the settlement tribesmen staring at her expectantly, waiting for more instructions. When she simply stopped, they exchanged uncertain glances.
Tessa offered a small smile.
"Well, that's all there is to it. Just go and start gathering what we need. I'm pretty sure most of the materials can be found inside the woods."
At her encouragement, the tribesmen dispersed to begin their search, moving with purpose through the surrounding trees.
