"We don't have to go," I said for the twentieth time at the door as my hand hovered over the handle.
This was a terrible idea.
"For the hundredth time, it's gonna be fine," Lucas grinned, that infuriatingly confident smirk plastered on his face. "I'm able to charm anyone if I put in the effort!"
I groaned and looked seriously at Lucas, trying to project the gravity of the situation through sheer force of will. "Lucas, listen, you don't understand. My family... they're all weird. They don't like creatures much and they don't really like spiritual things. They never liked me being a shaman. My aunt especially is one you've got to really watch out for." I warned him. "Trust me, you're not gonna like them."
"So what?" he shrugged, completely unfazed. "I'll just not talk about that stuff."
"You don't understand these people," I muttered, grabbing his arm. "Lucas. You are not going to like them. And they're not gonna like you, either."
