Lan beat me.
That sounded wrong, but within a week, Lan was able to beat me. I don't know why, or if it's because he's older than me or can predict my attacks. Either way, he beat me.
I stopped training with Lan and asked GG to train with me. We trained together.
Lex told me they're going on a school trip to Long Island, Queens, for a school competition or something. Apparently, teachers forced him to attend because they found out he was scoring just enough to pass and not to make him look dumb while doing it.
I didn't even know he was doing it on purpose. I thought he was just nervous when it came to exams or tests, and that's why he got others wrong.
Well, they came back with a trophy. Since it was their last year at junior high, Lex and Lan wanted to try drinking some booze they got from somewhere. I caught them before they could drink, and they made me drink with them even though I didn't; I just ended up agreeing.
My mother caught us and told Lex's mother. We got beat up that day.
We were grounded afterwards, and GG was only allowed to visit me at home.
I don't even know why I agreed to their stupid idea. When the grounded rule was suspended, Lex told me he created something that is more intelligent than him. Well, I didn't know how to react to that, so I just faked my happiness and said, "Congratulations."
When I got home, I felt terrible. When I saw Lex, I felt worse. I tried to tell him about how I felt about that, but I couldn't.
I talked with GG about that, but she said I should tell him or don't. The truth is that GG didn't know how to understand what I just told her, but she was just trying to be helpful.
So I stopped calling him Lex, and we hung out more. Lan started dating different girls, and I thought he was gay because he always hung out with Felix.
As we hung out more and more, I realised that I had a crush on Felix, but I didn't confess, and that made me love him.
I asked him if we should actually try it. I was 14 at he was 16.
We did have sex.
Felix asked me why I stopped calling him Lex, and I told him the truth. Apparently, Felix knew I lied about my happiness to him about that task he completed.
He said, "Even though you didn't understand what I was happy about, you tried to be happy with me, and in itself, it's happiness."
I'm glad it all worked out.
I kept having sex with Maria and Felix has high sex drive. We almost do it everyday or every chance possible unless it's my cycle.
After we were done having sex, we cuddled and my mother caught us cuddling naked. Felix only wear his underwear whiles escaping on the window.
It was funny but also scary when I realised what trouble I'm in.
I was grounded again and was told to never be alone with Felix. I disagreed with my mother.
My mother went to Felix's house to talk to Miss Daphne, Felix's mom, about Felix and me.
They agreed to let us keep seeing each other. Lan stopped walking with us after school.
Felix and I were walking home, and I went to Felix's house with him. When we got there, we saw an unfamiliar man and woman sitting in the living room with Felix's mom and grandmother.
Apparently, they were people from the IRS.
Felix started a company without telling any of us, and the IRS was here to collect the unpaid tax that Felix hasn't paid.
Felix is rich, way richer than his mom or anyone I know combined.
He gave $10,000, which is a lot of money for me.
I slept at Felix's place that time, and the following day I went home. I told my mom about how much Felix gave me and how much he has.
Apparently, my mother knew how much money Felix gave me because Felix sent it to her account because I'm still too young to have a bank account.
My mother told me she'll hold my money until I need it, which I agreed to.
Before I met the IRS guys, I started training with Felix, and it's fun. We train almost every day.
I would beat him up and encourage him to keep training while laughing behind his back.
I enjoyed beating him up. It was fun.
It's fun because GG was able to beat him too. He wanted to overpower us, but we're too fast for him.
He's getting good at fighting. I asked how many languages he can speak, and apparently 12: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, German, isiZulu, Sepedi (Northern Sotho), and Sesotho (Southern Sotho).
He said he knows Russian and can mimic the accent but doesn't have the dialect of it. I don't understand what he means and didn't bother to question it.
I asked him what's the reason for knowing all those languages, and he said with a smug look on his face like he's about to say something smart: "Because I'm gonna travel the world."
Which sounded like the truth, but it felt like a lie, and I stopped questioning him after that.
Anyway, we celebrated Felix's 17th birthday just fine, and the next day I heard he was arrested. Apparently, he beat up guys in the club but was let go because it was self-defence.
Something we didn't expect happened.
Lan died. It was sad, but it broke Felix.
Felix fell into a depression and blamed himself. He would pretend to be fine, but we all could tell he was suffering.
He started disappearing, and no one knew where he went sometimes. I confronted him, and he said he was looking for a group of mutants named Chicago's Morlocks.
By January 1998, he was starting to get better with his depression. We started to plan for prom, which distracted Felix from his vigilante activities.
Days went by, and they were good.
The prom night came.
I enjoyed every minute of it, and I'm proud to say that was the best night of my life.
The following week, Felix forgot about prom night or anything that happened during that time. I didn't know why, but I cried when I got home.
I cried and cried until tears stopped falling. My mother cheered me up.
Miss Daphne appeared to be broken, probably because her son forgot something in his life, and he wasn't faking it.
I went to SPACE when Felix wasn't home.
"Space, why did Felix forget something in his life?"
«I think it's because of a mutant, my lady.»
"What mutant?"
«Sir went to meet certain mutant by the name of Postman and came back having forgotten somethings in his life.»
"What!"
That's when I realised that Felix's memories were probably edited or cut from his mind if he met a mutant.
"SPACE, hide that from Felix. Don't tell him or remind him."
«Yes, ma'am.»
I don't know what might happen if he remembers, even though I really want him to remember, but I don't know how or the consequences.
I told my mom, his mother, and grandmother to not try to make him remember, if possible.
Everything went smoothly.
Felix came and said we need to practise shooting.
