"There isn't a download channel for it yet. I'll copy it straight to your computer."
Lucien said, then picked up the hard drive and walked into Jenny's bedroom to begin copying the game.
Jenny looked at him suspiciously:
"Looking at how excited you are, this isn't something inappropriate for minors, is it? Are you trying to make me embarrass myself in front of the audience?"
"If it were something inappropriate, I'd keep it for myself. Why would I give it to you?"
Lucien replied calmly.
"It's just a game. However, it's very scary. Is your heart okay? I'm worried you might get a heart attack."
"Cut it out!" Jenny curled her lip dismissively and said arrogantly:
"You're underestimating me way too much. There hasn't been anything that can scare me yet, let alone a mere little game!"
"No, I'm being serious. This game isn't ordinary horror."
"Enough with the nonsense. You're really underestimating your sister!" Jenny cut him off. "It's just a game. How scary could it possibly be?"
"Alright then."
Soon, the game was copied.
"Big sis, go for it then. Oh right, if you really can't handle it while playing, don't force yourself. Just exit the game."
Lucien patted Jenny on the shoulder, gave her a serious reminder, and then left the room.
"This kid..." Jenny felt that Lucien's gaze was strange, as if it was filled with a sense of pity.
It was just a game. How terrifying could it be?
Jenny did not care much. She only hoped that the game was truly as good as Lucien claimed and could help her attract more fans.
Soon, it was seven o'clock in the evening.
Jenny started her livestream right on time on the Twitch platform.
"Hello everyone, your Jenny is here!"
Jenny spoke in her bold manner as the popularity in her livestream room began rising rapidly.
"Looking good, Jenny is actually on time this time."
"Is this the Hype Killer's livestream room?!"
"Please don't speak, streamer. Just quietly face the camera."
"Haha, whenever I watch Jenny's streams, I always turn the volume off."
The bullet comments gradually became lively. Jenny had long gotten used to this kind of teasing and continued.
"Guys, today we're not playing League of Legends for now. We're going to play a horror game that my little brother recommended to me. He says it's really good!"
As she spoke, she began putting on the VR equipment, including a running platform, VR helmet, and a full-body haptic suit.
"Horror game? Sounds pretty unreliable."
"Yeah, what good horror games are even out these days?!"
"Is this the brother-in-law deliberately setting her up?!"
The audience chattered on with quite a bit of disdain.
In this era, League of Legends had dominated the domestic gaming charts for years, with Counter-Strike following closely behind.
As for anything else, there was basically nothing worth playing.
Horror games in particular had abysmal quality.
They either mindlessly piled on gore and blood, or suddenly popped out to jumpscare you, accompanied by creepy background music, with zero creativity.
Seeing these bullet comments, Jenny also felt a bit uncertain, but she still launched the game anyway.
"Alright then, let's officially begin."
Her vision suddenly darkened, and the first thing that appeared before her was a title screen.
"Warning: Minors under the age of 18 should play under the supervision of their parents. Patients with heart disease, mental disorders, hypertension, pregnant women, and those sensitive to fear, stimulation, and frightening scenes are strongly advised against playing this game."
After this line of text disappeared, the name of the game appeared in a wavy shape.
Silent Hill demo test version.
"Tsk tsk, they even made a warning like it's the real deal. So pretentious!"
"It's only a demo after all. How scary could it possibly be!"
"Jenny should just play Honor of Kings instead. My Brother-in-law is unreliable. This feels like another shoddy game."
The viewers commented, but the very next moment, they all changed their minds.
The camera view shifted, and Jenny found herself inside a room.
The room was very narrow, and the chandelier on the ceiling emitted a dim light.
Under the not-so-bright illumination, Jenny looked around. The room was empty,
with a closed wooden door ahead. She even spotted several cockroaches crawling on the floor.
"Holy shit, the graphics in this game are so realistic! It's almost no different from real life!"
Jenny could not help exclaiming in admiration.
At this moment, it truly felt like she had been transported into a real existing room.
Looking at the cockroaches on the ground, Jenny thought for a moment, then stomped on one.
A crisp crunch sounded as one cockroach failed to dodge in time and was squashed into paste. The rest scattered in fear.
"Holy shit, did you guys see that? I can actually stomp these cockroaches to death!"
Jenny shouted in shock.
"And I really felt the sensation of stepping on something! What the hell kind of game is this? Why does everything around me feel so incredibly real!"
