Chapter 1 - The last wolf blood (chapter 3)

Chapter 3: THE AWAKENING FORM

The forest no longer felt like a battlefield.

It felt like a living thing watching.

Kai stood at the center of the clearing, his breathing slow but heavy. The golden glow in his eyes had not disappeared. It flickered faintly, like fire refusing to die out.

The hunting pack had backed away.

Not fully retreating.

Just… cautious.

For the first time, they were unsure.

The lead wolf narrowed his eyes.

"…That pressure again."

Kai didn't answer.

He couldn't.

Something inside him was changing too fast for words.

His body felt like it was splitting and rebuilding at the same time. Bones didn't hurt, but they shifted. Muscles tightened, then loosened in unnatural rhythm.

The mark on his arm pulsed violently.

Thump.

Thump.

His heartbeat was no longer human.

The man behind him spoke quietly.

"Don't fight it."

Kai turned his head slightly.

"I'm not doing anything…"

But his voice was already deeper.

The lead wolf stepped forward again.

"This is impossible," he muttered. "A full Awakening without a pack trigger…"

Kai clenched his fists.

"I said stop…"

The air trembled.

A low vibration spread across the ground beneath him.

Leaves lifted slightly as if the forest itself was reacting.

The man's eyes widened a little.

"…It's stabilizing."

Kai frowned.

"What is stabilizing?"

But before anyone could answer—

Pain exploded through his body again.

This time, it wasn't just burning.

It was transformation.

Kai fell to one knee, gripping the ground.

"Ah—!"

His fingers dug into the soil.

His nails sharpened slightly.

Not fully claws.

Not yet.

But close.

The lead wolf hesitated.

"Now," he whispered to his pack, "kill him before it completes."

They moved again.

All at once.

But this time—

Kai moved too.

He didn't think.

He didn't choose.

His body reacted on its own.

Too fast.

A blur.

One attacker was thrown sideways before he even reached Kai.

Another was dodged without effort.

Kai's head snapped up.

And he saw them differently now.

Not as attackers.

But as movements.

Patterns.

Weak points.

His instincts were no longer human.

The man spoke again, urgency in his voice.

"You're crossing the threshold."

Kai gritted his teeth.

"Threshold to what?!"

The man answered:

"Your first form."

Kai didn't understand.

But his body did.

His spine arched slightly.

A low growl escaped him again.

Louder this time.

The wind stopped.

The forest went silent.

And then—

It happened.

Kai's body released a wave of energy outward.

Golden light burst briefly from his chest.

The attackers froze mid-motion.

Even the lead wolf stepped back.

"…Alpha pressure," he whispered.

Kai slowly lifted his head.

His eyes were fully glowing now.

Not human.

Not wolf.

Something in between.

He stood.

And for the first time…

He didn't look like a boy anymore.

He looked like something that should not exist.

"I said…" Kai's voice echoed slightly now.

"…stop coming closer."

The pack obeyed instinctively.

They stopped.

Even the lead wolf hesitated.

The man exhaled slowly behind him.

"…It's done."

Kai turned slightly.

"What is done?"

The man looked at him seriously.

"The first awakening phase."

Kai frowned.

"I don't understand any of this."

The man stepped forward.

"You don't need to yet."

The lead wolf suddenly backed away a step.

"This isn't over," he said sharply, but his voice had changed.

Less confident.

More cautious.

Kai stared at him.

For a moment, he felt something strange.

Control.

Not over others.

But over the space around him.

The pack was afraid.

Not of him fully.

But of what he was becoming.

The lead wolf finally turned.

"This anomaly will be reported."

And then they disappeared into the forest.

One by one.

Gone.

Silence returned.

Kai stood there alone.

Breathing heavily.

His body slowly calmed.

The golden glow in his eyes faded slightly, but did not disappear completely.

He looked at his hands.

"…What am I becoming?"

The man stepped beside him.

"Something the system failed to control."

Kai looked up.

"The system?"

The man nodded.

"The pack order. The rules. The hierarchy."

Kai frowned.

"Why me?"

The man paused.

Then said:

"Because you were never meant to belong to it."

Kai didn't respond.

Because somewhere deep inside…

He could feel it too.

Something had changed permanently. ,

THE END OF THE LONE WOLF

Morning came quietly.

The forest was calm again, like nothing had happened.

Kai sat on a fallen log, staring at the ground.

The man stood nearby.

Neither of them spoke for a while.

Finally, Kai broke the silence.

"So what happens now?"

The man looked at him.

"That depends on you."

Kai frowned.

"I don't understand anything that happened."

The man nodded slightly.

"You don't need to understand the system to exist outside it."

Kai exhaled slowly.

"…They said I don't belong to a pack."

The man replied:

"You don't."

Kai looked up.

"Then what am I supposed to do? Hide forever?"

The man shook his head.

"No."

A pause.

"You either get erased… or you define your own place."

Kai looked at him carefully.

"And what are you?"

The man hesitated.

Then said:

"I was sent to observe you."

Kai frowned.

"Observe me?"

"Yes."

"For who?"

The man didn't answer immediately.

Then:

"For those who created the pack system."

Silence.

Kai stood up slowly.

"So I'm being watched?"

The man nodded once.

"Now you are noticed."

Kai looked at the forest around him.

Everything felt different now.

Not safer.

Not more dangerous.

Just… open.

Like the world had shifted slightly.

Kai clenched his fists.

"I don't want to be part of their system."

The man studied him.

"Then don't be."

Kai frowned.

"That simple?"

The man gave a faint, rare expression of something like a smile.

"No."

He turned slightly.

"It will never be simple."

A pause.

"But it is possible."

Kai looked down at his arm.

The mark was still there.

Still alive.

Still faintly glowing.

But it no longer felt like a curse.

It felt like a choice waiting to be made.

Kai finally asked:

"What do I become now?"

The man looked at him directly.

"You become the first of something new."

Kai narrowed his eyes.

"And what is that?"

The man turned away toward the forest edge.

His final words were quiet.

But clear.

"A wolf without a system."

Then he walked away.

And did not return.

Kai stood alone in the forest.

But this time…

He didn't feel lost.

He felt awake.

The wind moved through the trees.

And somewhere far away…

A new name was being written into the world of packs.

Not Alpha.

Not Beta.

Not Lone.

Something new..
