The cold rain washed away the blood on Arkan's face, but it couldn't wash away the betrayal. He lay on the muddy ground, looking up at the man he once called his best friend.
"Why, Leo? We were brothers!" Arkan gasped, his breath rattling in his lungs.
Leo looked down with cold, calculating eyes. "Brothers? Arkan, in this world, there is no room for weaklings like you. You found the Ancient Heart, but you don't deserve its power. I do."
With a swift motion, Leo plunged his dagger into Arkan's chest. Darkness began to consume Arkan's vision. His last thought was a burning desire for revenge. If only I had one more chance... I would destroy them all.

Suddenly, the cold rain was gone. The smell of blood vanished. Arkan felt a soft bed beneath him. He jolted awake, sweating and gasping for air.
He looked around. This was his old room in the academy. The sun was shining through the window. He looked at the calendar on his desk: March 26th.
"I'm... I'm back?" Arkan whispered, his hands trembling.
