Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Nothing Remains but Regrets

He alone blocked all our attacks.

We were all Kings, yet at that moment I understood why he was so confident about wiping out our entire race.

An overwhelming pressure weighed down on us, suffocating our very souls.

Is there truly nothing we can do?

What is the purpose of becoming King-rank cultivators if we cannot even defeat him?

A deep, mocking laugh echoed across the battlefield.

"Ohh… you seriously thought you could kill me?" the demonic creature said with a cruel smile. "You may all be Kings, but you are nothing compared to me. I am not an ordinary Beast Demon King."

His crimson eyes burned with hatred and twisted joy.

"Now that your entire team of Kings is here, I can kill all of you at once. After that, I will not only destroy this planet but wipe out the entire human race."

The sky trembled under his presence.

I stepped forward, tightening my grip on my weapon.

"We know we cannot kill you," I said firmly. "But we can seal you… for the future of humanity."

"All Kings, begin the formation!"

In the blink of an eye, all six of us took our positions.

Six pillars of light shot into the sky, forming a massive formation that covered the heavens. The air vibrated with immense spiritual power, and the sky itself seemed to bow under the pressure.

The demonic creature fell to his knees.

Relief flashed through my mind.

The suppressive formation is working.

But the Demon God was far too powerful.

Dark energy surged around him as he resisted the formation.

A sudden chill ran down my spine.

Something is wrong.

Before I could react, a terrifying attack rushed toward us.

In an instant, all six of us spat blood and staggered back.

Still, none of us moved from our positions.

We had only one goal — seal him.

"Ethe, you have to do it! We have no other choice!" Sam shouted desperately.

"For humanity… start the Blood Sacrifice Formation," Arya and Mari said at the same time.

Alex and Max were heavily injured, barely standing, while Naya tried to heal them with the last of her power.

I looked at my friends.

They all nodded.

That was enough.

I activated the Blood Sacrifice Formation.

The sky split apart as a massive golden hand descended from the heavens.

Golden chains formed from our blood, wrapping around the Demon God and suppressing his power.

The chains tightened.

The seal was forming.

We all knew the price.

Our lives.

But it was necessary.

If we failed, not only us — the entire human race would be wiped out.

"You foolish humans!" the Demon God roared in rage. "You are sacrificing yourselves just to seal me? Do you really think this seal can hold me forever?"

His voice shook the heavens.

"I will return. And when I do, there will be no one left to stop me. Your sacrifice is meaningless!"

I took a deep breath and smiled faintly.

"We know you will return… someday," I said calmly. "But we have faith in humanity."

"If you return… then so will we."

"Humans will kill you one day."

My body was growing weaker.

All six of us stood together for the last time, holding onto each other.

Mari was crying quietly, unable to stop her tears.

None of us expected this ending.

The Demon God screamed as the golden chains tightened further. His rage shook the entire world.

We released our Beast Spirits.

Our bodies slowly began to fade into golden dust.

Regret filled my heart.

Why did I leave that thing in the ruin?

Maybe… I should have used it.

But deep down, I knew the truth.

Even if we had used it, we still would not have won.

We had already tried our best.

One by one, my friends turned into dust.

Their powers and legacies scattered across our homeland, waiting for the next generation.

My vision blurred.

Tears rolled down my face.

I didn't want this ending.

Then a single thought echoed in my mind.

Nothing remains but regrets.

I could feel my power scattering into the world.

This was truly the end.

But humanity was safe.

They had new homes.

A new future.

Slowly, I closed my eyes.

And everything faded into darkness.
