Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Supporting Character Starter Pack

Just as the shopkeeper was about to say something, he saw Satoru Gojo pull out two copper coins and jingle them in front of him.

Faced with a customer who completely ignored the usual social script, the middle-aged man opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found himself speechless. He had a family to feed, and since the boy was paying, he was a customer. It was just that his manner of doing things was incredibly irritating no matter how you looked at it.

Satoru Gojo watched with a grin as the boss sullenly took the money, then grabbed his apple and headed toward the square.

Munching on the apple, Satoru soon arrived at the bustling plaza. Time ticked by, and the countdown in his field of vision steadily decreased—from "10 minutes" to "1 minute," and finally jumping to "10 seconds."

The moment the countdown hit zero, a teenage boy wearing a black tracksuit and clutching a plastic convenience store bag appeared out of thin air in the middle of the plaza without any warning.

He stood there, stunned as a wooden chicken. His hair was messy, and he looked somewhat haggard, possessing the exhausted air of someone with an irregular sleep schedule. His eyes were full of bewilderment as he muttered to himself.

"What's going on...?"

"No matter how I look at it, this doesn't seem like a movie set."

Subaru Natsuki looked at the unfamiliar scene before him, beginning to doubt reality itself. He had clearly just stepped out of a convenience store, felt a slight sting in his eyes and rubbed them—so how did he suddenly end up in this bizarre place?

Satoru Gojo, who had been in position for a while, watched the suddenly materialized, dazed Subaru Natsuki and let out a soft click of his tongue.

"Tch, so this is the protagonist?"

"He looks a bit slow-witted. And he seems to be just an ordinary person."

Satoru tilted his head slightly, observing the still-recovering Subaru from over the top of his sunglasses. He looked like a typical high schooler with no special aura whatsoever, completely failing to match the powerful presence Satoru imagined a "protagonist" should have.

Right then, the pale blue prompt reappeared.

[Detected that the protagonist of this world, Subaru Natsuki, has successfully descended. Supporting character has met the trigger conditions for the initial encounter. Granting "Supporting Character Starter Pack"!]

"Ha, just hearing that name makes me not want it."

Satoru quipped, though the starter pack didn't seem to care about his personal will.

[Opening Supporting Character Starter Pack.]

[Reward: Six Eyes Adaptation (Capable of adapting to the systems of different worlds).]

[Reward:

Choose one of three:

1. Perfect Mastery of Reversed Cursed Technique

2. Random Mangekyo Sharingan

3. Vector Transformation LV5.]

Seeing the follow-up prompts, Satoru raised his eyebrows slightly.

The first reward required no explanation; it allowed his Six Eyes to integrate with the local world. If the Six Eyes previously had the effect of perceiving the flow of Cursed Energy, they could now do the same for things like magic.

However, what caught Satoru's attention was the content in the parentheses.

'Different worlds?'

Satoru thought silently, for once setting aside his usual lazy and casual posture, replaced by a touch of seriousness. If all of this was real, the implications of that prompt were far from simple.

If only his original modern world and this pseudo-medieval world existed, the prompt surely wouldn't have used the phrase "different worlds" to explain the effect. This meant that besides these two, there were likely many other worlds.

And he might be going to those other worlds in the future!

At the thought, even with his ironclad composure, waves of excitement stirred in his heart. Admittedly, back in his own world, becoming the undisputed strongest was a foregone conclusion—just a matter of time.

But what about other worlds?

He was confident, arrogant, and prideful, but that didn't mean he was blind. Take the knight he met last night, Reinhard, for example. Just a brief encounter was enough to feel a formidable strength that wasn't inferior to his own.

What about other worlds? Would there be even more powerful existences? Perhaps far more powerful than anything he could conceive?

Thinking of this, Satoru's heart rate quickened slightly.

"It seems I've truly come to an unprecedentedly interesting place."

Satoru Gojo murmured to himself, his gaze fixing resolutely on the choice of rewards.

"I choose option one," Satoru said calmly.

Based on his interactions with these prompts, while he didn't know exactly what the other two rewards were or what they did, the fact that they were placed alongside "Perfect Mastery of Reversed Cursed Technique" meant they were likely on par with it.

Compared to those unknown abilities, Satoru decisively chose the one he was familiar with. Only by choosing what he understood could he master it more effectively and rapidly increase his strength.

As Satoru spoke, the prompts before him vanished. Simultaneously, a strange sensation surged through his body—an indescribable feeling, as if something deep within him had shifted.

Following that was a sense of renewed clarity. The world before him seemed even sharper. Moreover, the "void" feeling he got when looking at people now possessed different colors. In a tiny fraction of the passing crowd, he could faintly see their bodies emitting certain hues, similar to energy like Cursed Energy.

Satoru knew this was the change caused by the Six Eyes fully integrating into this world. Those possessing colors were likely individuals with special abilities—like Jujutsu Sorcerers among ordinary people.

As for the Reversed Cursed Technique... although he hadn't mastered the skill before this moment, the sudden epiphany rising within his heart allowed him to master it in a single instant.

If Satoru hadn't been completely certain of everything happening until now, the fact that this "Supporting Character System" had "taught" him the Reversed Cursed Technique in such an extraordinary way had erased the last shred of doubt.

Because in the world he lived in, there was simply no existence capable of "teaching" him in this manner. From ancient times to the present, not even the strongest from the golden age of sorcery a thousand years ago—the one called the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna—could achieve such a feat.

This was a power that transcended human capability!
