Chapter 89 - What Stayed Unsaid at the Dining Table

The restroom door shut with a soft click; too quiet, too clean, like nothing unusual had just happened.

But Ryan didn't allow silence to settle.

The moment Luciano took a step, Ryan moved in, fast, controlled, his hands landing on Luciano's shoulders as if it were a casual gesture, yet subtly steering him away from the corridor, guiding him out of sight of the restroom like a shadow redirecting another shadow.

Luciano frowned.

"Have you seen him?" Luciano asked again.

Suspicion flickered in his eyes.

"Yeah," Ryan said smoothly, forcing a calm smile. "He told me he was going outside for a smoke."

Luciano's expression darkened instantly.

"A smoke?" he scoffed. "There's a poolside for that. Must he go outside?"

Ryan didn't blink.

Didn't hesitate.

"Maybe he just wanted some fresh air."

For a moment, Luciano studied him long enough to make the air feel heavier than the ocean night outside.

Then he clicked his tongue in irritation.
