THE WORLD TREE OF ASHA
The moment the number clicked over, The Root erupted in a cascade of emerald light that reached into the sky like a pillar of living energy. The ground shook, and the territory expanded in a shockwave that pushed back the combined attack—turning fire to green leaves, poison to rich soil, floods to gentle rain, and petrifying beams to sparkling dust.

HOSTILE GUARDIAN WARNING: Their combined attack cost 150,000,000 faith – their growth is severely slowed
Root Network (SS-rank) connected every plant, tree, and stream in the territory into a single system—letting The Root sense threats from miles away and respond instantly. The ground beneath the hostile forces began to shift, roots wrapping around their feet and holding them in place without needing to spend additional faith.
I will not destroy them, The Root said, its voice ringing clear across the battlefield. But I will stop their aggression. Every Guardian has the right to guide their people—we do not need to rule to thrive.
The pillar of green light split into twelve smaller beams, each one reaching out to touch a hostile Guardian's territory. Where the light touched, the land healed—burned fields regrew, poisoned water ran clear, and the aggressive energy of the higher-level Guardians softened slightly.
Lyra's sword dimmed as Solar Oak's power waned, the massive faith expenditure leaving it weakened. "How… how can you heal us after what we've done?" she whispered, dropping her weapon as the roots released her.
"Because we know what it's like to be weak and alone," Kira said, stepping forward. "Your Guardian has been guiding you to believe that only strength through dominance matters. But there's another way—we can grow together, share knowledge, and make all our people stronger."
As The Root's light spread, some of the hostile Guardians began to respond. Crystal Spire (Level 5) was the first to pull back its forces, its voice reaching out through the Root Network:
We have ruled our people with fear for so long… we forgot that faith should be given freely, not demanded.
Slowly, one by one, the other hostile Guardians followed—all except Solar Oak and Venom Bloom (Level 8), who remained defiant.
We will not bow to a lesser Guardian, Solar Oak's voice thundered. When we regain our strength, we will finish what we started.
Venom Bloom added, Dominance is the only way to ensure survival. Your alliance will crumble when faced with true power.
But their threats carried less weight now—their combined faith had been drained to less than 100 million, and their growth rates had dropped to a fraction of what they were before. The other former hostile Guardians began to send messengers to Asha, seeking to form alliances and learn the ways of cooperative growth.
In the weeks that followed, Asha Village became the center of a new network of Guardians—22 in total, ranging from Level 3 to Level 8. The Root Network connected them all, letting them share faith, knowledge, and resources. The Root spent 10 million faith to activate Root Network fully, and the collective faith per second rate climbed to 342.917.
TOTAL FAITH: 47,829,163.2
SPECIES LEVELS: 12 fighters at Level 11 (Pre-ascension); Highest 12
ASCENSION PREPARATION: Ascension Seed planted – will grow into an ascension platform when The Root reaches Level 10
ASCENSION COST UPDATE: Each Level 11 fighter requires 4,882,812,500 faith to ascend – collective cost for 12 fighters: 58,593,750,000
Kira, Borin, and Zara spent their days training the new Level 11 fighters, preparing them for the massive faith investment required for ascension. They also worked with the former hostile Guardians to help them restructure their communities—teaching them how to guide their people through care rather than control, which increased their average faith levels and boosted the collective growth rate.
When we reach Level 10, The Root explained, the Ascension Seed will be ready, and we can begin the first ascensions. At Level 50, ascension will become available to all Level 11+ fighters, and we will unlock god-rank abilities that can reshape the land itself. But god-rank abilities will cost billions of faith per use, and their requirements will test our unity to the limit.
Three months later, The Root climbed to Level 6, its total faith surpassing 100 million. The territory expanded to 120,000x the original village size, and they unlocked Faith Reserve (SS-rank)—an ability that let them store up to 10 billion faith for emergencies or large investments like ascension.
But trouble was brewing on the horizon. Messengers from the far north brought word of a Guardian at Level 50—the Void Tree—which had ascended its entire species and now sought to consume all other Guardians to become the sole deity of the world. It had already destroyed dozens of villages and absorbed their Guardians' power, and it was moving south fast.
The Void Tree follows the darkest path of all—believing that only one Guardian should exist, and all other life should be consumed to fuel its growth, The Root said gravely. To stop it, we will need to reach Level 50 ourselves, and unite every Guardian in the world under a single purpose. Every second we spend growing stronger, every alliance we form, every person we guide will matter more than ever.
Kira stood at the ascension platform, which was now tall enough to be seen from miles away. The Root Network stretched across the continent, connecting hundreds of villages and Guardians, all working together for the first time in history. The faith ticked upward at 342.917 per second—adding up to millions every day, billions every month.
The path ahead was long, and the cost would be immense. But as she looked out at the thriving lands under The Root's guidance, and felt the faith of millions flowing through the network, she knew they could succeed.
"Every second counts," she said to the gathered fighters, their eyes filled with hope and determination. "And together, we have all the time we need."
