In the center of the lab, they found a terminal labeled: SUBJECT ZERO.
Adrien hacked the lock, the screen flickering to life. His eyes widened.
"Leon... it's not just that you were a subject," Adrien whispered. "You are the project. You were the first successful bridge. You didn't escape. They let you go to see how the 'Chemistry' would hold up in the real world."
Leon stared at the screen. His life—his memories of the streets, his "tactical napping," his friendship with Adrien—it was all a calibrated test.
"So," Leon said, his voice dangerously low. "I'm just a walking beta test?"
"No," Ashley said, stepping toward him. "You're the one who survived."
