Chapter 68 - Rebuilding the village

You turned to Lukas amid the ruins of Eldenwood and spoke calmly.

"Lukas, bring out the demon."

Lukas smiled darkly and waved his hand. The bound demon materialized on the burnt ground in front of you, still wrapped in unbreakable shadow chains, whimpering and trembling in terror.

You looked down at the creature with cold indifference.

"Kill him as you like. He is no longer of any use to us now."

Lukas's eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction.

"With pleasure, big brother."

He raised one hand. A massive scythe of pure shadow formed in his grip. In one swift, merciless motion, he brought it down. The demon's head rolled across the ash-covered earth before both body and head dissolved into black smoke and vanished completely — erased from existence.

The survivors watching from the side let out a collective breath of relief and quiet satisfaction. The four heroes stood silently, clearly shaken by how casually the "useless Fifth Hero" had just ended a demon's life.

You then stepped forward into the center of the ruined village and raised your hand.

Snap.

Reality itself bent to your will.

The charred wreckage of Eldenwood began to transform in moments. Burnt houses rebuilt themselves into beautiful, sturdy wooden-and-stone homes, even finer than before. The cracked defensive walls rose taller and stronger, now reinforced with glowing cosmic runes. The mountain of enchanted food reappeared, larger and more bountiful than ever. The protective barrier reformed around the entire village, vastly more powerful and infused with your unrestricted power — nothing short of a god could breach it now.

The village was fully restored in seconds, looking peaceful, prosperous, and stronger than it had ever been.

At the main gate, you created two towering statue golems to stand as eternal guardians.

One was a majestic Mage Golem, carved from enchanted stone with flowing blue runes across its body, holding a glowing staff crackling with magic.

The other was a heavily armored Sword Golem, gripping a massive enchanted blade, built for raw physical defense and close combat.

Both golems stood motionless on either side of the gate, dormant for now.

You spoke clearly so every survivor, hero, and member of your group could hear:

"These two golems will guard the village forever. If Eldenwood is ever attacked again, they will activate instantly and defend it with overwhelming force. No enemy will pass."

The survivors fell to their knees in tears of joy and gratitude. The children cheered. The elders wept openly, whispering prayers of thanks to "Lord Grim" and "Lady Miya."

Miya stood proudly at your side, tail swishing with fierce satisfaction.

Lukas grinned, shadows dancing around him.

Liora looked on with quiet awe.

The four heroes watched in stunned silence, realizing just how far beyond them your power truly was.

Eldenwood had risen again — reborn, protected, and stronger than ever.
