Chapter 40
Victor's Point of View (Cedric's Grandfather)
When Cedric left the office, a heavy silence ensued. I leaned back slowly, watching Edward coldly, then broke that silence and said in a firm tone:
"Mr. Edward, as I told you, my grandson Cedric is engaged, and the engagement will not be canceled."
Edward jolted in his seat, his eyes widening with an anger he couldn't suppress as he leaned toward me, shouting:
"What are you saying, Mr. Victor? Are you agreeing that your grandchildren should die?"
Not a single hair on my face moved; I maintained my icy gaze and said:
"No, they are my grandchildren, and I want them to live in my house."
Confusion was clear on Edward's features. He leaned back slightly, shaking his head in lack of comprehension:
"I don't understand, Mr. Victor."
I said calmly, a smile barely touching my lips:
"I will explain to you."
