Amilio raided Evanora's hideout. Evanora's men protect her at all costs ensuring she escapes
the mansion instead of landing in the hands of the law.

That bitch Mabel has ruined everything. I shouldn't have trusted her. Fuck in fact I shouldn't
have left Nico with her. How could she do that? If I lose everything I've ever worked for in this
life because of her I'll give her the most painful death experience.
As much as I wouldn't want to admit it, Mabel knows a lot about my very profession and I've
probably lost it all by now. It's all been lost just because of one stupid fuckin emotion called love.
I dialed Nicholas' number, after ringing 3 times he finally picked it up.
Evanora, "your fuckin wife has destroyed my empire with her pretty little mouth."
Nicholas, "what are you talking about Eva?"
Evanora, "get your lazy ass of whatever stupid cloud that led to my destruction. I don't care how
you find me but I want to see you in 15 minutes."
I hung up.

I'm not sure what Evanora was talking about so I called Mabel. The first words she said when
she picked the call was I'm sorry. Sorry for what? What the hell happened?
Mabel," can you please come get me. Please, I'll explain."
Evanora gave me only 15 minutes to get to her but I need to know what happened so I went
to Amilio's apartment, arriving 20 minutes later. For this time delay Evanora would be so upset
but I can handle her.
Mabel was crying on the couch when I got to the apartment. She looked up to me and stood
up, locking me in her tight embrace as soon as she got close to me and cried even more. I
gently stroked her hair while trying to get her to calm down.
Mabel, "I broke the omerta Nicholas. Amilio questioned me and I told him everything."
My brain suddenly went blank after her words, my heart felt cold, black, empty, angry. So
many emotions not because she was in pain but because she betrayed Evanora after
everything she'd done for her.
Eva is not someone who keeps her enemies alive yet she spared Mabel and let her live for
my sake and our love story but Mabel repaid her this way.
Mabel, "I found out Evanora killed my brother's father for power. She's the reason why my
brother suffered, she's the reason why brother lost his property and today. Finally he'll get
justice and take everything that was taken from him…"
I harshly pulled away from her hug and my hand landed on her face, a slap even I did not
prepared to give out to her and she fell to the table corner hitting her head against the table's
surface, her stomach probably hit against the corner of the table.
How could she do that to Eva?
Nicholas, "you're a traitor Mabel. I trusted you, Evanora trusted you and you sold us out. Do you
know what you just did?"
She looked at me, her hand on her cheek, tears streaming down her face, trembling in fear. I
didn't care how she felt, she may just be the greatest mistake I've ever made.
Mabel," I love you Nicholas but I've always supported my brother. I watched him suffer after
Antonio died."
Nicholas, "suffer Mabel? Suffer? Do you know what suffering is? Was your brother tortured
every night, was your brother raped every night, was he starved for a week, was he tortured,
were his bones broken only to be mended and broken again Mabel? Do you fuckin know what
suffering is? Do you know the definition of suffering? "
Mabel," he lost his father because of Evanora. He may not have been tortured but think about
his emotions, mental health, everything. "
Nicholas," really. Evanora's parents died, she was sold into human trafficking before she could

only to be mended and broken again. Despite having every reason not to trust you Mabel, she

I tried asking him to give me a chance but he took Ivan. Before leaving he promised he'd make
me pay for what I did to Evanora.
I didn't know Evanora had gone through that and the guilt was fucking with my head but at the
same it was all her fault.

Ivan was asleep in my arms. He hadn't woken up and that was good enough. I had to leave
him with one of the nannies.
I couldn't help but wonder how Evanora was doing. I've watched her suffer since she got into
the underworld.
I found her in her apartment that had been evaded by Amilio. I expected her to point a gun to
my head threatening to kill me for being late like she'd always done when I pissed her off but
she was crying.
As soon as she saw me she ran into my arms and sobbed, her grip on me desperate. Evanora
was not someone who cried, that's not the Correlza I knew.
The last time I had seen her cry was at the age of 14. It's been 8 years now and not a single
tear had been seen from Evanora after her first kill.
She trembled violently in my arms, it felt like she would fall so I held her steadily in my arms
ensuring she didn't fall. It hurt seeing her like this. This was all my fault.
I shouldn't have been associated with Mabel. This wouldn't have happened to Eva.
Evanora, "they took everything away Nico. I've lost everything. Even you left me."

She slowly lifted her head, her huge eyes swollen, her nose red.
Nicholas, "I promise I will never leave you Eva. Never again. You're beautiful, you're the
strongest woman I know, I'd kill for you Evanora. I have killed for you, I've taken a bullet for
you,my loyalty to you will never waver, not even for my own son. If you want me on my knees
then I'll get down just to make you smile Eva. If you want me to burn down the world for you I'll
do it. If you need me to kill millions and bring their heads before you I'll do it. I've worshipped the
very ground you walk on Evanora. I'd go to hell back and forth just to get to you Eva. If I have to
challenge God himself just to get to you I'll do it. I'll never leave you alone Eva. Never again. "

I got down on my knees not sure what I was going to say or do but I got on my knees. I hugged
her waist, keeping her close to me, close enough to feel her.
Like I could hear her heart breaking into a million pieces with each breath she took.
Nicholas, "you never fail Eva. You're the strongest Correlza I know. I'd never ask you to have a
heart. The Evanora I know has killed many, you've broken bones, burned an entire city just to
prove your point. You've taken over the mafia at the age of 14 and became one of the most
ruthless bloody mafia queens. You're not the queen of ashes Evanora. You're the queen of
death, the queen of darkness, the queen of cruelty. I'd give anything just to stay by your side. I'd

I removed the freckles, the terrible excuse of a disguise and wiped out the makeup Luna
