Chapter 1 - Awakening

Luck had woken up in this body at the age of 10, it had taken him more then a year to adjust to the new norms of this world as its rules were like some web-novel rather then the earth he lived in before.

At first, he had thought it a dream—a long, strangely consistent dream that refused to break. Days passed, then weeks, then months, and the world did not fade. Hunger felt real. Pain lingered. Time moved forward without pause. Eventually, denial gave way to acceptance.

This was not a dream.

It was his reality now.

This world was almost 13 times the size of earth, but more then 100 sentient species lived almost all hostile to each other. Wars were not rare events whispered about in history books—they were constant, shifting like tides across continents. Entire regions would fall silent, only to be rediscovered decades later as something… else.

Luck was born a human too lived in a small human city with a population of a 100,000 which was one of the 10 colonies surrounding the main human city, which had a population of a million people, the total population of humans on the planet was close to 2 million.

A fragile existence.

Humans were not the strongest, nor the most numerous. They survived not because they dominated—but because they endured. Because they adapted. Because they hid when needed and fought when cornered.

The colony he lived in sat behind reinforced walls that stretched high into the sky, etched with faint patterns that glowed dimly at night. Defensive formations, he had been told. Ancient ones. Their creators long gone, their purpose still holding.

Beyond those walls was not wilderness.

It was uncertainty.

The technology of the human civilization was quite weird, some things were quite advanced more then the human civilization on earth and somethings were primitive, this discrepancy was because of the main power system of this world.

Energy weapons existed—but so did swords.

Communication arrays spanned cities—but messages were still carried by hand in some regions.

Massive machines powered parts of the colony—yet outside, hunters relied on instinct and experience more than tools.

It all revolved around one thing.

The hidden realm.

Now 5 years after his transmigration he was now stood in front of the awakening temple, ready to enter and unlock his potential, the hidden realm. The realm within the soul of a person was the main point in this chaos filled world, every individual that reached the age of 15 for their respective species unlocked a hidden world inside their soul.

It was the moment that decided everything.

Status.

Power.

Worth.

This hidden world could be anything, it could be small planet or multiple solar system, it depended on the potential of the person, but even it was small it could grow indefinitely.

That was what made it terrifying.

There were no true limits—only starting points.

Luck stood among dozens of others his age, all dressed in simple ceremonial clothing. Some whispered among themselves, their voices tight with nervous excitement. Others stood in silence, eyes closed, as if praying to something they did not fully understand.

The air itself felt heavy.

Not physically—but mentally.

As if expectation had weight.

Luck remained quiet, his gaze fixed on the massive structure before him.

The awakening temple rose like a monolith of pale stone, its surface smooth yet carved with countless inscriptions that seemed to shift if stared at for too long. It did not look ancient, nor new. It simply… existed.

Like it had always been there.

He had read enough—heard enough—to understand what this meant.

This was his second beginning.

Luck was woken up from his thought as his named was called of the loudspeaker of the church, he was the 6th in line and had waited for his turn to be called for the awakening.

"Luck Ardent."

His name echoed slightly, carried by a voice that held neither warmth nor indifference. Just duty.

He stepped forward.

Each step felt measured, not because he was afraid—but because something inside him was… alert.

Watching.

The process of awakening could be done anywhere but the alter in the churches was one of the sacred items of the human race, other races most probably had similar objects, anyone awakened using the power of this alter had a chance for their inner realm to be upgraded into a superior quality, while still remaining the same level, additional guaranteed chance for the newly awakened realm to already have a living species being born which inherited the natural properties of the hidden world, and a system that would help the new awakeners to understand their hidden realm better.

Luck walked up to the gigantic door of the epic looking church, which was pushed open for him by the gigantic 9 meter tall stone statues. The grinding sound of stone against stone echoed softly, unnaturally smooth for something so massive. Their movements were slow, deliberate—almost as if they were aware of what they were doing.

Luck was still awestricken by the weirdness of this world, something were right out of fantasy world were some others were medieval or science fiction. It was a constant contradiction. Living statues, glowing formations, and ancient rituals—yet structured cities, recorded data, and organized systems.

It never truly felt consistent.

And maybe that was what made it dangerous.

As he stepped inside, the doors closed behind him without a sound.

The interior of the church was vast, far larger than it had any right to be from the outside. Pillars stretched high into the unseen ceiling, their surfaces carved with symbols that seemed to shift when not directly looked at. A faint blue glow illuminated the hall, coming from a single structure at the center.

The monolith.

"Place your hands on the monolith," said the priest wearing a bored expression on his face, this was probably the hundredth time he had to instruct a kid today to awaken, for Luck it was nerve-racking but the priest still had the rest pf the day to do the same boring job.

Luck glanced at him briefly.

The priest's eyes weren't even fully focused on him. Routine. Repetition. Another child, another awakening.

To him, this moment meant everything.

To the priest, it was just another task.

Hyping himself up Luck approached the glowing blue monolith in the center of the church. Each step echoed slightly, his heartbeat syncing with the rhythm of his movement. The closer he got, the more he could feel it—not physically, but somewhere deeper.

Like standing too close to something vast.

"I'm ready Sir," said Luck.

His voice came out steadier than he expected.

The priest gave a small nod, not looking particularly interested. "Close your eyes and imagine a flower bidding or popcorn popping or something like that inside yourself, the better you know yourself the better picture you can imagine, think deep into your personality as this could influence the main aspect of your realm, and the better you chances of awakening a higher tier realm would be."

The words were casual.

Luck placed his hands on the monolith.

It was warm.

No—alive.

He closed his eyes.

Luck closed his eyes and imagined, as he was from modern earth and stuff like the internet existed Luck was quiet confident he wouldn't have any difficulty in this aspect, he could almost imagine anything as he had seen all type of images and videos and research papers of different aspects of life as a university student studying Genetics.

Images came easily.

Too easily.

Flowers blooming, stars forming, oceans crashing, civilizations rising—his mind moved through them without resistance. He could visualize anything, build anything, construct entire realities in seconds.

But none of them felt… right.

They were impressive.

But they weren't him.

'What better then the humble replication of microorganisms, such as miosis or binary fission' Luck and other children of his age had already been extensively been instructed on the process of awakening, he had a lot of time to think about what inner realm attribute would be better for him, but this was the only answer he could find.

It was simple.

Fundamental.

Unavoidable.

Life, at its core, did not begin with grand structures, It began with division.

He focused on one cell dividing into two then into four, then into eight until slowly the process didn't feel like him imagining it but a epiphany, his mind turned blank except the singular thought of the microbes multiplying.

The cell was small.

Insignificant.

It divided.

Two became four. Four became eight. Eight became countless.

The process accelerated.

Not faster in speed—but deeper in meaning.

Each division carried intent.

Each replication refined itself.

Mistakes weren't failures—they were adjustments.

Adaptations.

Evolution.

The simplicity of it began to twist into something far more complex.

What started as a single cell became systems.

Networks.

Interactions.

Competition.

Survival.

And somewhere within that endless chain of division—

Something responded.

After what seemed like hours Luck finally opened his eyes, he had done it he had awakened, but still unaware of what and how his inner world was.

The glow of the monolith had dimmed slightly.

Or perhaps his perception had changed.

For a brief moment, everything felt… sharper.

Clearer.

Quieter.

Like something had settled inside him.

The priest glanced at him, slightly more attentive now, as if confirming something unseen. But he said nothing.

No congratulations.

No explanation.

Just silence.

The door to the church opened again signaling for Luck to leave the premises, which he did immediately.

As he stepped outside, the light felt different.

He walked to the large training ground and sat on one of the hundreds of meditation mats, closing his eyes he focused in the new feeling that had developed deep inside his brain, his hidden world,

The training ground was filled with others like him—newly awakened, each trying to grasp something that could not be seen with normal senses. Some sat still, breathing slowly. Others frowned, their expressions strained, as if forcing something to respond. A few opened their eyes repeatedly, frustration already creeping in.

Luck ignored them.

This was not something that could be rushed.

After a while he felt his consciousness leave his body and enter into his hidden world, he felt like a bird watching from high above the world, slowly the fog cleared from his eyes and the world came into view.

The transition was smooth.

Too smooth.

There was no sensation of movement, no feeling of passing through anything—only a shift. One moment he was sitting, the next he was… elsewhere.

Weightless.

For a brief second, there was nothing but grey ,Then, like a veil being lifted, the fog began to thin.

'Single planet, huh' Luck thought to himself, his consciousness hovered above the planet until he was what could be called outer space in earth terms, a silent, empty expanse surrounding a lone sphere.

PLANET NAME: _______________________

PLANET SIZE: 10 KM

NATIVE RACE: GOBLINS (COMMON)

LEVEL: 1

RANK: LOW

QUALITY: INFERIOR

ASPECT: UNKNIWN

This was the system provided by the awakening church to help new awakeners to better understand their inner realm in the beginning, as time passed and the awakener gained better understanding of their realm they wouldn't need this, but to Luck this felt amazing, it felt like the status screen in games.

luck wasn't surprised by the evaluation of his inner world, this was the most common configuration, he was the lowest level which was level 1and rank low which for everyone in the beginning, and quality being inferior meant that he hadn't obtained the special buff from the awakening alter.

Each level had 4 ranks, low medium, high, and perfect, and then size of the world depended on the level as well as the quality of the world, quality was improved by building unique buildings and technologies or any other aspect that could benefit the inner realm.

'of course it had to be goblins, the worst creature in movies and animes on earth, and an unknown aspect is normal'. an unknown aspect meant that the inherited aspect of his realm didn't exist in humanity before him since the existence of the awakening churches which could record the aspects of all humanity since their origination which was more then 40,000 years ago.

'I need to find out the aspect of my world first before i can think of doing anything else' the awakening churches needed his information to register into their local registration which would make it easier for them to locate where an individual was awakened.

Luck dropped close to the surface of the planet in order to observe the planet more closely, his perspective shifting instantly.

Distance meant nothing here.

He descended.

Mountains rose beneath him—rough, uneven, unrefined. Patches of barren land stretched in irregular patterns, broken occasionally by sparse vegetation. There was no clear structure. No sign of civilization.

Just terrain.

He was almost like a god in his realm, he couldn't change the physical world himself for now, he still could observe the smallest detail in his world.

And so he looked.

Really looked.

The scanned the entire surface of the 10km wide planet in an instant finding nothing but terrain.

No goblins.

No movement.

No life—at least, none visible.

That should have been impossible.

His gaze narrowed slightly.

He wasn't so thick to forget what he had hoped for but he was nervous to check it out immediately, he focused on his eyes and looked around, his vision magnified like looking through a microscope, adjusting to the new sense of vision he looked towards the ground,

The world shifted again.

Details expanded.

Grain became structure.

Structure became complexity.

Layers unfolded one after another until—

He saw them.

He could finally see them, somethings microscopic moving around the surface. They didn't look like any other micro-organism he had studied back on earth, they were irregular shaped and different colored.

They moved. Slowly. Deliberately.

Some clustered together, others drifted apart. A few seemed to chase one another, while others simply… divided.

Replicated, over and over again.

'Can't get everything I want exactly, this is better then some random aspect, at least I can study this and figure something out' he thought.

With the awakening also came another aspect that made the awakener grow strong with his inner world, it was inner energy, inner energy from what Luck had heard was much like mana and Qi in web-novels and manga, but here the aspect of the inner world mutated the inner energy according to its specification.
