"What are you trying to do!" The bearded man, forced to stop the car, said in a very unfriendly tone.
"Where are you all going? Can you tell me about this place?" Shen Muyu called out to the window.
"We need to find something to eat," the woman behind them said weakly. The bearded man glared at her unhappily, and she immediately shrank back.
"You can have this, but you have to tell me about the situation here." Shen Muyu took out a dry bread from the glove box, which had been forgotten in the corner for a long time.
"What could it be? They're surrounded by zombies, that's all," the bearded man said dismissively, staring at the bread.
"I didn't see any zombies," Shen Muyu replied calmly.
"The zombies here are a bit unusual; they only come out at night, which is why you didn't see them," the woman said, sticking her head out again.
"Evening? Then what's the rush?" Shen Muyu checked the time; it wasn't even midnight yet, and evening was still a long way off.
"Just in case," the bearded man replied, pulling the woman behind him.
"Where did you come from?" The emotion glasses showed that the man was angry and the woman was afraid. Shen Muyu felt that this answer was somewhat plausible.
"From a villa hotel inside." The bearded man, seeing that the woman had already replied to so many questions, didn't care about one more and casually replied.
"Can you take me there? I can pay you an extra loaf of bread." Shen Muyu thought for a moment and said. There are more clues in crowded places. She couldn't expect to explore this huge scenic area by herself. That would be such a waste of time.
"Okay, but you have to give me one first, and you'll have to live alone. Too many people here means danger, so we won't take you." The bearded man thought for a moment and then agreed.
"Are there many people living there? Are you all living separately?" Shen Muyu asked again after hearing this.
"Yes, most of the survivors are there now, and there's almost nowhere else to live," the woman said, but her voice was incredibly soft. Luckily, Shen Muyu's hearing was good, otherwise he probably wouldn't have heard her.
"Here you go. Do you need to wait for me? Or should you find a car?" Shen Muyu tossed a dry bread out the window, and the bearded man handed it to the woman, who then hid it in her clothes.
"No need, this is enough. The other cars are unusable. We'll just run ahead, and you can follow slowly." Perhaps because he had received the food, the bearded man's tone softened.
The two exchanged a glance, then glanced at Shen Muyu before running forward.
Shen Muyu pretended to put his hands on the steering wheel, but in reality, it was Xiao A who started the car and slowly followed behind the two of them.
Seeing the new emotion on the bearded man's face, Shen Muyu fell into deep thought.
"Anger and excitement, how come this is a bit like the previous village chief Li Yi? I feel like there's something wrong with what he said. What is it? Is it that the more people the better? Using me as bait or a scapegoat at night?" Shen Muyu thought to himself.
It took more than twenty minutes for Shen Muyu to finally see a villa complex.
"We live in the villa in the middle. The three villas on the side are empty. You can choose one yourself, but don't follow us. We're not staying with you." The bearded man stopped and said, slightly out of breath, probably exhausted.
Shen Muyu simply threw a piece of bread out.
"Okay, I understand." Upon hearing Shen Muyu's reply, the two quickly ran away.
"They ran all that way and only got two loaves of bread before coming back? And they seemed to be in a real hurry." Shen Muyu muttered to herself as she watched the two figures walk away.
"Little A, let's follow them and drive into any villa courtyard we can find." Shen Muyu used her spiritual power to look around. There were no strange flowers here, but she also couldn't see anyone living inside. It was all empty and looked very dusty.
"How did these drag marks come about?" Shen Muyu covered the entire villa area with his mental power. It seemed like there was no movement, but the dust on the ground of several villas in the middle was not intact, and there were some drag marks inside.
Shen Muyu searched around, but the traces disappeared abruptly, and nothing special appeared in his field of vision.
"Master, those villas in the middle are all inhabited, many people, at least a dozen or so, the one that the couple just went into."
After parking the car, Xiao A used infrared sensors to scan the surrounding villas. The two nearby villas were indeed uninhabited, but the seven villas inside were not nearly as sparsely populated as the man had claimed.
"It's a pity my special ability prevents me from seeing this world, otherwise I could have taken the opportunity to investigate what's inside," Shen Muyu sighed.
"Forget it, let's go check out the surrounding area first." Shen Muyu couldn't just stay in the villa like this. It would be better to leave after she had investigated. If she didn't find anything, she would have to apologize to the people in the villa.
"Yes, Master." Little A started driving the car, but before they even left the villa gate, the sky suddenly darkened.
"What's going on?" Shen Muyu frowned slightly, making Xiao A stop.
"It feels very similar to what it looks like in the spiritual world." Shen Muyu saw the red moon in the sky and quickly released his spiritual power to confirm.
"No, this doesn't seem right." At this moment, Shen Muyu could already see the people in the other villas, but the unknown drag marks had disappeared.
The people in the other villas all tacitly chose to squeeze into the same room.
Just as Xiao A had said, there were only a dozen or so people in the bearded man's villa. Their faces were filled with fear, and they were holding all sorts of things, but they obviously couldn't feel safe. They were all cowering in fear.
Each of the three villas in the middle housed thirty people. They appeared much more relaxed, but their guard was still high.
In addition, there were three other villas, each containing more than twenty people, all of whom looked terrified.
"Master, something has emerged from the ground."
Upon hearing Xiao A's words, Shen Muyu extended his mental energy, and hundreds of mounds of earth appeared, with the things inside constantly digging out the soil.
"Holy crap! What is this thing?" Shen Muyu exclaimed slightly.
A head wrapped in flowers peeked out, followed by a body that appeared to be normal.
Shen Muyu zoomed in on the image and observed it carefully. Beneath the vibrant flowers were the heads of zombies. Some had more flowers than others, but without exception, the flowers were all protruding from the skin.
Shen Muyu selected a zombie that was almost swallowed by flowers and slowly pushed his mental energy into it.
"This can no longer be considered a brain, it should be considered a breeding ground for plants?" Looking at the densely entwined roots inside his head, Shen Muyu couldn't help but shudder.
