"Ha, another beautiful day begins." After finishing the last drop of milk in her cup, Leticia thought energetically about which game she should play today.
The events of yesterday didn't trigger much of a reaction from her; it was just helping Melanie take a bath, right? She didn't have even the slightest strange thought about it.
(Referring to not falling asleep until two in the morning last night)
The television was still playing incredibly boring news, but Leticia didn't think about changing the channel. As the Demon King, even though she was currently slacking off, it was still necessary to understand the recent situation of her enemies.
After all, they might become obstacles on her path to slacking off.
"Sources claim that the Demon Race has found the trail of Leticia Inferno, and the Demon King is about to return."
"The Elf Empire is facing its most severe pestilence in a century; a large number of trees are being devoured by fire moths, and the Elf Empress has officially declared a state of emergency for the Elf Empire."
"The chieftain of the Beastman Race's Yellow Ear Clan recently posted on social media..."
Knock, knock, knock. The sound of knocking interrupted Leticia's thoughts.
Luna walked to the door and opened it. "Malanie?"
Melanie nodded at Luna. "I'm looking for Leti... her."
Before Luna could call Leticia over, Miss Demon King, having heard Melanie's voice, came to the door on her own. "What is it?"
"Accompany me shopping." Melanie said very calmly.
"..."
"..."
The two girls were speechless.
After a few minutes of silence, Leticia confirmed that Melanie was not joking.
"Are you serious?"
"Ya said it would be better if you went along." Melanie explained. She didn't want to have anything to do with the Demon King either, but Yori had strongly requested it.
There was no other way. As a hopeless sister-con, Melanie could do anything for her sister, and going shopping with the Demon King wasn't something she couldn't accept.
"I'm not feeling well today..."
"We leave in half an hour." Melanie didn't even think about seeking Leticia's consent; she had only come over to inform Leticia.
After saying this, she turned her head with flair, her snow-white hair slapping across Leticia's face.
Watching the white-haired girl's back disappear around the corner of the hallway, Leticia squeezed a word through her teeth: "Damn!"
This is the weekend, the weekend! Why does she have to accompany this damn pervert outside?
Is there any justice? Is there any fairness?
Why does a Demon King who has been a law-abiding citizen in the Human World for three years have to suffer like this?
"Your Majesty, go change your clothes." There was a hint of schadenfreude in Luna's voice.
Although she was Leticia's maid in name, in reality, their relationship was more like that of frenemies.
"Luna, you're still laughing at me!" Leticia shouted.
"I'm not." Luna covered her mouth.
"You've been laughing at me the whole time, you haven't stopped!"
"It's an illusion." Luna coughed lightly twice. "That dress we bought just last month..."
At the mention of that dress, Leticia's expression broke a little. God knows what kind of sickness Luna had to use their already limited living expenses to buy such a dress online that had no use other than looking good.
That dress was quite pretty; the only problem was that it didn't really suit Leticia's status.
Leticia was the Demon King, and that dress was exceptionally pink and tender. When she saw that dress, Leticia swore she would absolutely never wear it.
"No way! Unless necessary, I am not wearing a dress!" Leticia sternly rejected Luna's suggestion.
"Are you really not going to consider it? It suits Your Majesty very well."
"Absolutely not." Leticia shook her head vigorously.
"Then the socks..."
"There are plenty of short socks."
"Alright." Luna muttered in disappointment. Ever since Your Majesty was defeated by Malanie seven years ago, she hadn't seen Her Majesty wear girls' clothes again.
All those beautiful long dresses from before had been thrown into the deepest part of the storage room by Leticia. After she started slacking off, she completely stopped caring about her image in the eyes of others.
Ah, no, she still cared a little bit. At least when meeting the Four Heavenly Kings, she would still dress properly.
It was just that the clothes she wore were a bit... arbitrary.
A short-sleeved T-shirt and a pair of trousers, very simple, so simple that the Heavenly Kings couldn't believe this was the majestic Empress.
As the saying goes, clothes make the man. In the past, what Leticia wore were all outfits specially customized for her by Demon Race craftsmen, with the purpose of highlighting Leticia's majesty.
But the current Leticia wore ordinary clothes that weren't worth much in the Human World; the difference was not just a little bit.
No wonder the Four Heavenly Kings and Princess Kira dared to lead the Imperial Guard to storm the palace later. If the Majesty in their hearts was still the original version, they wouldn't have dared even if they were given ten times the courage.
"Your Majesty, when do you plan to return to the Demon Race?" Thinking of this, Luna asked in a low voice.
This question caused Leticia's steps toward the room to falter. "When the Demon Race encounters a crisis that Kira cannot solve."
However, as long as she can keep an eye on Melanie, the Demon Race shouldn't encounter any major crises, right?
