Phoenix rounded the top of the stairs with Sean right behind him. His eyes swept the situation immediately, landing on Lyra first before shifting to me. I held his gaze steadily as he looked me over from head to toe, a small chuckle escaping his lips when he took in the full picture of my gardening clothes, muddy trainers and all. Sean came to stand beside him and his grey eyes narrowed slightly at Lyra before he took a quiet step closer to me. I chewed on my lip and waited.
"You girls alright?" Phoenix asked.
"Yes, Phoenix." Lyra smiled at him warmly before flicking me a small glare that was angled precisely enough that he could not see it. "We were just chatting. Girl things."
Cel laughed in my mind. "It would be so easy to push her down the stairs right now."
She was not entirely wrong. Lyra was standing on the stairs at just the right angle, those heels not doing her balance any favours. But I pushed the thought away immediately.
