Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 Container Chase

East City Port—

no longer felt like a workplace.

The machines had stopped.

Cranes hung frozen in the air.

Heavy chains swayed silently above the docks.

The only sound left—

was the breathing of people trying not to panic.

Workers stood motionless.

Looking at each other.

Not knowing whether to run—

or stay.

Along the main route—

men in black suits blocked the path.

Silent.

Still.

And behind them—

trucks loaded with MBG food supplies.

Not moving.

Time—

was becoming expensive.

If they failed here—

it wouldn't be just one school.

Thousands of children—

would not eat today.

Pak Rahmat spoke quietly.

But everyone heard him.

"…this cannot stop."

In the distance—

the man in the hat watched calmly.

As if everything had already happened.

"A massive harbor…"

A faint smile appeared.

"…against a small team."

Bimo grinned.

"…yeah, we've heard that one before."

Sinta stepped forward.

Eyes sharp.

"Team."

One word.

"Positions."

And the world—

moved instantly.

Chaos Begins

WHOOSH!

Bimo and Dika shot forward.

Fast.

Too fast for ordinary eyes to follow.

But—

Dominion was prepared.

Two men appeared from the side—

directly intercepting them.

"STOP!"

Bimo nearly crashed into them.

He twisted his body—

half a second too late.

Dika grabbed him hard.

"FOCUS!"

Both of them nearly fell.

Almost.

But they kept moving.

Because stopping—

was not an option.

Route Open?

Bimo reached the first truck.

His breathing still uneven.

"Sir! Move the truck!"

The driver looked ahead nervously.

"…the route's still blocked—"

"LOOK FORWARD!"

There—

Rani stood in the middle of the lane.

Lifting a massive steel barricade.

Her hands trembled—

slightly.

Two Dominion men pulled against her.

CLANG!

Pull.

Push.

Pull again.

"…I'M HOLDING IT—!"

Nisa rushed in from the side.

One shove.

Then another.

BRAK!

The barricade snapped loose.

Falling hard against the concrete.

The route—

opened.

But—

not completely.

From the side—

a Dominion vehicle accelerated straight toward the truck.

Fast.

Direct impact course.

"WATCH OUT!" Sinta shouted.

Critical Second

Time—

slowed.

The vehicle got closer.

Closer.

The driver froze.

Unable to react.

Then—

WHAM!

Andra appeared.

Lifting a wooden pallet.

Throwing it full force.

BRAK!

The vehicle slammed into it—

stopping less than a meter away.

Silence.

One second.

Then—

everything exploded again.

"NOW!" Bimo shouted.

The Trucks Move

BRUMMMMM!

The first truck surged forward.

Slow—

then faster.

One man jumped toward the side door.

"DON'T—!"

Arga moved.

Not like before.

Faster.

Sharper.

Cleaner.

He pulled the man away—

without a word.

THUD!

Both crashed hard onto the ground.

But the truck—

kept moving.

One.

Two.

Three.

Hope—

started to feel real.

But not all of them.

Almost Failed

The last truck—

didn't move.

Engine dead.

"It won't start!" the driver yelled.

And suddenly—

everything became quiet.

This was it.

The breaking point.

Sinta shouted immediately—

"PROTECT THAT TRUCK!"

Dominion moved again.

More of them.

Faster.

More brutal.

Dika got pushed backward.

Bimo nearly lost balance.

Tono dropped from above—

half a second too late.

Rani tried to hold the line—

but the pressure was too much.

Arga stepped forward.

Alone.

Standing directly in front of the truck.

His lunch box glowed brightly.

Brighter than before.

The grains pulsed rapidly.

Like a heart—

being forced to beat harder.

He looked at the driver.

"Start it again."

"…it won't work—"

"Try again."

His voice changed.

Not louder.

But impossible to refuse.

The key turned.

The engine—

silent.

One second.

Two.

Dominion closed in.

Footsteps.

Shouting.

Pressure.

Arga didn't move.

He simply stood there.

Holding the line.

Protecting.

"One more time."

The key turned again.

Silence—

for half a second.

Then—

BRUM!

The engine roared back to life.

"GO!" Sinta screamed.

The last truck accelerated forward.

Out.

Safe.

Aftermath

The harbor slowly came back to life.

Machines restarted.

Cranes moved again.

But—

something had changed.

Bimo sat on top of a wooden pallet.

Breathing heavily.

"…that was close…"

Dika nodded.

"…way too close."

Sinta looked at Arga.

Silent.

No words needed.

She saw it.

The change in him.

Arga opened his lunch box.

Eight glowing grains.

Brighter.

More stable.

But that wasn't what changed.

He did.

"…this is only the beginning."

Elsewhere

A black vehicle drove away from the harbor.

The man in the hat stared ahead silently.

"The harbor failed."

A voice answered calmly through the speaker.

"It doesn't matter."

Silence.

"That was only the opening move."

A pause.

"The next targets…"

"…the kitchens."

"…all of them."

The smile on the man's face disappeared.

Replaced by something colder.

More dangerous.

Behind them—

the MBG trucks continued driving forward.

Carrying lunch supplies.

Saving today.

But for the first time—

everyone understood one thing:

They might still be able to save today.

But this war—

would not end tomorrow.

And next time—

the thing being chased

wouldn't be containers anymore.

It would be—

their time itself.
