Chapter 1 - Roses Family (1)

In the year 100 AD, a hero named Aldric Roses succeeded in uniting various small tribes in the Little Disidess Flower Plains. He was known as a wise and brave leader, who managed to drive out the invaders seeking to conquer the region. In 122 AD, Aldric founded the Roses Kingdom and became its first king. He married Princess Elina Thorn of the Fire Thorn Kingdom, and the couple bore a lineage that would rule for centuries.

Aldric established the principle that the Roses family must always uphold justice and protect the people, with the red rose as a symbol of courage and love for the homeland.

THE UNITY SPEECH OF ALDRIC ROSES

At the Little Disidess Flower Plains, Year 100 AD

"Hail to the tribal leaders, clan elders, and all honorable children of our homeland!

I stand before you today not as one who claims to be above anyone else, but as a brother who has witnessed our shared suffering. For years we have lived divided—one tribe on the hillsides, another by the riverbanks, and others in the midst of the flower fields we all hold dear. We have competed, we have quarreled, and in hardship we have stood alone. But now, danger approaches from afar—invaders who seek to turn our homeland into spoils of war, who aim to seize our right to live in peace and dignity!

I am Aldric Roses. I have seen blood spilled on our fertile soil. I have heard the cries of mothers who have lost their children, and felt the anger of young people with no clear future. Therefore, I call upon all of you—LET US UNITE AS ONE PEOPLE!

We need not unite with swords that strike our own kin, but with a common resolve to protect what we hold together. I establish one principle that will be our foundation: Our family—which we shall name the Roses Kingdom—must always uphold justice and protect the people without discrimination. No single tribe is more important than another; every life in this land is as precious as a flower seed that thrives in our plains.

Look at the red rose that grows in every corner of our land! It has thorns to protect itself, yet also soft petals full of love. Thus the red rose shall be our symbol—a sign of courage to face our enemies, and unwavering love for our beloved homeland!

Stand with me today! Let us build a kingdom where justice prevails, where the people may live in prosperity, and where every future generation will be proud to call themselves children of Disidess. United we are strong—divided we shall fall one by one!

Let us build a better future, together!"

After a long struggle

From 169 AD to 192 AD, Aldric's third grandson, King Theodore Roses III, expanded the kingdom's territory peacefully through political marriages and economic cooperation. He also founded the first knight academy to train the kingdom's soldiers. However, during the reign of his son, King Marcus Roses IV, the kingdom faced attacks from the Stone Kingdom, which sought to seize natural resources in the border regions.

The war that lasted for 5 years tested the resilience of the Roses family, yet they managed to defeat the enemy thanks to firm leadership and the full support of the people. After the war, King Marcus focused on reconstruction and forging alliances with neighboring kingdoms to prevent future conflicts.

During the war, many lives were lost, one of which was the death of Theodore Roses I's first son, Sir Dobel Roses, who died at the hands of the "King's Butcher" and made Theodore Roses Severe depression until he died in 192 AD and was succeeded by his younger brother, namely Erico Roses II (192 AD 234 AD).

During the tenure of Erico Roses II, the son of Theodore Roses I, he continued to supervise how the royal system ran from inside and outside the kingdom, many years later in 231 AD The youngest son From Theodore Roses named Andrew Roses decided to speak to King Erico Roses II and give his father's last will (Theodore Roses I)

Andrew also visited the residence of King Erico Roses in the post-depression hall, which turned out to only contain traces of the battle. He then went to the meeting hall where he saw King Erico Roses Taking a break with a glass of warm water, he asked King Erico Roses II for permission to enter

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I

My lord, may I enter and discuss a matter of importance for the benefit of the kingdom and its people? This may not take long, so may I? Or may I simply address you as "Uncle?"

KING ERICO ROSES II

Hmm.. come in so what do you want to say?

(In the Palace Conference Room, Nighttime)

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: Your Majesty, allow me to speak with complete honesty. I come not only as a member of the Roses family, but also as the heir to the Rudbariel line that has safeguarded our ancestral traditions for decades.

KING ERICO ROSES II : Please, nephew. I know you have been grumbling about the kingdom's condition for some time now. Tell me what you truly think.

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: Thank you, Your Majesty. Our ancestors—starting with the Founder, Aldric Roses—established clear traditions. My father, Rudbariel Roses V, even reinforced them as mandatory rules: every king must attend the royal sword purification ceremony each new moon, must select one knight from among the common people each year, and must hold consultations with all tribal chiefs before making major decisions. But now... those traditions are all but gone!

KING ERICO ROSES II: sighs deeply I do not deny it, nephew. But you are not seeing the full picture. The kingdom is in chaos—flood disasters have destroyed plantations in the south, food prices have skyrocketed, and the Iron Sand Kingdom has begun showing signs of hostility at the border. I have no time to follow every ancient ritual that may no longer be relevant in this day and age!

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: Relevant? Your Majesty, traditions are not empty rituals! The sword ceremony is a symbol that the king will always uphold justice. Selecting knights from the people ensures we never lose touch with our roots. And consulting with the tribes is why our kingdom has remained united for centuries! Now the people are beginning to doubt us—they see a king who is far too busy with foreign affairs and has forgotten his own family's foundations.

KING ERICO ROSES II: Do you think I do not care about the people? his voice tightening slightly I have worked night after night to find solutions. I even had to take a loan from the Fire Thorn Kingdom just to save people from starvation! Yet here you stand blaming me for not following traditions that may only be a burden on our shoulders right now!

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: bows respectfully Forgive my inappropriate words, Your Majesty. But isn't the fundamental principle of our family to uphold justice and protect the people? How can we do that if we forget how our ancestors maintained bonds with those we lead? The kingdom's turmoil is not only due to external problems—it is also because we have lost the foundation that made us strong.

KING ERICO ROSES II: calms down, stands up and faces the window Perhaps you are partly right, nephew. I have been so focused on fixing the damage that has already been done that I forgot how to prevent it in the first place. Tell me again—how did your father manage the kingdom when facing hardship? How did those traditions help him?

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: With pleasure, Your Majesty... My father always said that a kingdom's strength does not come from wealth or armies alone—it comes from the trust the people place in us. When he faced the drought that struck the eastern regions five years ago, he not only opened the grain silos, but also held a ceremony with all tribal chiefs at our sacred water source. He said, "We must show that we stand together in joy and sorrow, not just with words, but with the traditions we uphold as one."

KING ERICO ROSES II: nodding slowly I still remember those days. The kingdom emerged from that hardship peacefully, with no unrest or rebellion. smiling slightly as he looks up at the hall ceiling

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: Yes, Your Majesty. And that was because the people knew they were not left alone. But now... they see a king who rarely appears before them, one who speaks more often with envoys from other kingdoms than with the people who live on our very soil. staring at King Erico with a firm gaze I kLnow you face difficulties, but time is no longer on our side. The people are talking—they want change. And I will bring that change. I will not wait much longer to take the throne and stabilize this struggling kingdom!

KING ERICO ROSES II: his eyes reddening slightly with shock and anger How dare you threaten me, nephew? Do you think you can do better than I have?

SON OF THEODORE ROSES I: This is not a threat, Your Majesty—it is a reality you must accept. I love this kingdom as you do, but I will not watch it crumble because we are too late to recognize our mistakes! pulls an old leather envelope from within his tunic and places it on the table

My father kept this will before he passed away several years ago. He told me to give it to you only when you began to forget what the Roses Kingdom was truly founded for. turns to leave King Erico II

I hope our ancestor's will opens your eyes before it is too late. Until we meet again, King Erico Roses II.

(Andrew walks out with steady, angry steps, leaving the palace doors wide open. The night wind blows in, carrying the scent of red roses from the palace gardens, while Erico remains standing still, staring at the will envelope lying on the table.)

Meanwhile, in the back garden of the palace, Andrew and his younger brother were practicing sparring with enthusiasm and passion.

(The back garden of the Roses Palace, early morning. The sun shines down on a well-kept expanse of green grass, where two young men are practicing sword fighting with wooden practice blades. In the distance, beneath the shady canopy of a red rose tree, a woman in a light purple dress sits cross-legged, watching them while embroidering fabric with a rose pattern.)

Andrew Roses II: (parrying his brother's strike with a sharp wooden scrape) Faster, Xevac! Don't just rely on your brute strength—use your agility like we learned from the old knight!

Xevac Roses I: (launching a quick counterstrike, nearly grazing Andrew's neck) You're too focused on technique, Brother! Sometimes we need to follow our instincts to win a fight! (leaps back as Andrew strikes toward his waist)

(They move in perfect coordination, their steps following a rhythm they've practiced thousands of times. The sound of clashing wood echoes through the quiet garden, accompanied only by the chirping of birds.)

Xevac Roses I: (breathing slightly heavier, but his gaze remains focused) Why have you been so serious lately, Brother? Even when we practice, you look like you're facing a real enemy.

Andrew Roses II: (stops attacking and steps back, wiping sweat from his forehead) Because we may soon face real enemies, little brother. The kingdom is growing more unstable, and I don't want us to be unprepared when dark times come.

(Just then, a soft laugh rings out from the direction of the tree. Both turn to see their adoptive sister smiling at them.)

Seraphina Roses (Adoptive Sister): You two are far too serious for young men your age! A simple wooden practice match and you're already acting like it's a great war. (stands and approaches them with graceful steps)

Andrew Roses II: (smiles slightly and sheathes his blade) Sister Sera. We didn't realize you were watching us.

Seraphina Roses: I've been there for the past few minutes. I love watching you two practice—it reminds me of when your father and King Erico were young, always competing like this. (looks at them with loving eyes)

Xevac Roses I: Did you watch them practice too, Sister? Were they like us?

Seraphina Roses: Even worse! They often caused trouble because they were so enthusiastic, destroying some of the ornamental plants in this very garden. (laughs again) But they always helped each other when one was in trouble. That's what makes our family strong—not strength or fighting skill, but that we're always there for one another.

Andrew Roses II: (bows his head briefly, pondering Princess Seraphina's words) You're right, Sister. I've probably been too fixated on the kingdom's problems and forgotten what matters most.

Xevac Roses I: Then let's practice again! This time more casually, like Sister Sera said! (lifts his blade again with renewed enthusiasm)

Andrew Roses II: (nods and picks up his blade again) Alright, but don't expect me to give in easily!

(They return to practice, this time with laughter and jokes interspersed between each movement. Seraphina goes back to sit under the tree, continuing to watch with a warm smile as the sun climbs higher, shining down on the peaceful palace garden.)

(While Andrew and Xevac are still practicing with fresh enthusiasm, a middle-aged man in formal dark blue royal attire approaches the red rose tree where Seraphina is sitting. He carries a gold-banded envelope with a clearly visible victoria flower crest seal.)

Second Royal Advisor, Marcus Vell: Princess Seraphina Roses. Please forgive me for disturbing your peaceful moment.

Seraphina Roses: (turns with a warm smile) It's quite alright, Marcus. You always bring important news. What is it?

Marcus Vell: I bring a special letter from Princess Rachangel Victoria of the Blue Sea Victoria Kingdom. She ordered me to deliver it directly to you, as the letter concerns the event you will be hosting at the Roses Palace.

(Seraphina carefully takes the envelope, opens the seal gently, and reads the letter, her expression growing brighter with joy.)

CONTENTS OF THE LETTER FROM PRINCESS RACHANGEL VICTORIA

Blue Sea Victoria Palace, 15th Day of the White Moon

To Princess Seraphina Roses, First Princess of the Roses Kingdom

Honorable Princess Seraphina Roses, or should I say my dear friend—may this letter find you in good health and happiness. I write this with great joy after receiving your invitation to the "Friendship Tea Gathering" that will be held at the Roses Palace in three weeks' time.

As we discussed earlier, this gathering aims to strengthen relations between our kingdoms through discussions on economy, culture, and security cooperation. I am pleased to confirm my attendance along with a delegation from the Blue Sea Victoria Kingdom, consisting of four chief advisors and two trade experts.

To support the event you are hosting, our kingdom would like to contribute the following:

1. A collection of historical books on relations between ancient kingdoms, which we will present as a gift to the Roses Palace library.

2. Eight merchant ships carrying food supplies and construction materials to assist flood-affected areas in the southern part of your kingdom.

3. A traditional dance troupe from our kingdom, ready to perform at the opening night celebration.

I would also like to propose adding a special session to discuss joint natural resource protection, considering both our kingdoms have coastal areas vulnerable to climate change. Additionally, I am very eager to meet Andrew and Xevac—I've heard they've become skilled warriors!

Please let me know if there are any special preparations we need to make, or if your kingdom requires any assistance before the event begins. I can't wait to see you again and visit the red rose garden I've always loved at your palace.

With respect and dear friendship,

Princess Rachangel Victoria

Blue Sea Victoria Kingdom

P.S. I've brought a special souvenir—sea candies made from our kingdom's signature sea sugar. I hope you and your family enjoy them!

Seraphina Roses: (closes the letter with a wide smile) Rachangel always thinks of others. Even in an official letter, she doesn't forget to include personal news and gifts.

Marcus Vell: That's true, Your Highness. Their delegation will arrive one day before the event begins. Do you have any special instructions regarding preparations?

Seraphina Roses: Please inform the palace staff and my mother immediately to prepare our best guest chambers for them. And let Andrew and Xevac know too—they'll be thrilled to hear about Princess Rachangel's arrival. (looks back at her two younger brothers, still practicing enthusiastically) Perhaps this is the perfect opportunity for them to learn about the importance of inter-kingdom relations.

Marcus Vell: Very well, Your Highness. I will convey your orders at once.

Marcus bows respectfully and departs, while Seraphina carefully puts the letter away. She looks back at Andrew and Xevac, her eyes full of hope for their kingdom's future.

After seeing their sister Seraphina wave, Andrew and Xevac immediately stop practicing, wipe the sweat from their brows with handkerchiefs, and walk toward their adoptive sister with cheerful steps.

Xevac Roses I: Sister Sera! What news did you receive earlier? You saw how I almost beat Brother Andrew, right?!

Andrew Roses II: (gently pats Xevac's shoulder) Almost, little brother. If I hadn't lifted your blade just in time, you might have. (smiles) But your movements really are getting better.

Seraphina Roses: You're both wonderful. But now, let's head to the Family Private Hall—Mother is waiting for us there. Oh, and I have some good news that's sure to make you happy.

The three siblings walk through a corridor of the garden lined with red, white, and pink roses, heading toward the inner part of the palace used only for family gatherings. When they enter the warm hall, decorated with antique wood carvings, an elegant woman with neatly tied blonde hair stands from the sofa, greeting them with a warm smile.

Eivana Zacarya Roses: My dear children. You both look tired but happy—your practice must have been fun, yes? (kisses Andrew and Xevac's foreheads, then hugs Seraphina) And you too, Seraphina. It's been too long since we've gathered like this.

Andrew Roses II: That's true, Mother. We really should do this more often. Xevac just used a new move he learned from Old Knight Gideon.

Xevac Roses I: Yes, Mother! If I have time later, I can show you the move. Brother Andrew says it's very useful for facing larger opponents.

They all sit around a round table adorned with fresh flowers and white porcelain teacups. Eivana immediately calls a servant to serve tea and traditional palace biscuits.

Seraphina Roses: Mother, I received a letter from Princess Rachangel Victoria earlier. She will soon come to the Roses Kingdom for the event we're hosting—the "Kingdom Friendship Forum." And in addition to that, we will be holding a special tea gathering with her and her delegation just for our family.

Xevac Roses I: Rachangel is coming?! I can't wait to see her again! She taught me how to make sailboats from palm leaves when she visited us three years ago.

Andrew Roses II: This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Blue Sea Victoria Kingdom. Sister Sera says they'll be bringing historical books and aid for the flood-affected areas.

Eivana Zacarya Roses: (nods happily) That's truly wonderful. Rachangel has always been a kind and thoughtful guest. We must ensure the tea gathering goes perfectly. Seraphina, is there anything special we need to prepare for the event?

Seraphina Roses: Almost everything is ready, Mother. Rachangel will even be bringing their kingdom's traditional dance troupe and special souvenirs—sea candies made from their region's signature sea sugar.

Xevac Roses I: Sea candies?! I haven't had any since her last visit!

Everyone laughs at Xevac's words. Food and tea are served, and they continue chatting merrily about plans for the upcoming event, stories from their childhood with Rachangel, and how they will welcome their honored guests with the warm hospitality of the Roses family.
