Yuji was still processing the fact that Takeru had somehow acquired Kenjaku as a father figure.
Takeru, meanwhile, had moved on to something else entirely.
He looked toward his Kogane.
"I think I have enough to get some people out, right?"
The Kogane appeared beside him.
"You currently possess enough points to invoke the rule allowing a player to exit the Culling Game and invite a substitute player from outside the barrier."
Takeru nodded.
"Good."
Yuji looked over.
"You're actually going to use your points?"
"Yeah."
Higuruma stepped closer.
"How many people are you planning to remove?"
Takeru thought about it.
"Depends."
"On what?"
"Who wants out."
He looked around at the group.
"Some people came here because they had no choice."
Nanami nodded.
"That is true."
Takeru looked back at his Kogane.
"So I can spend 100 points per person?"
"Correct."
Takeru smiled.
"Perfect."
Yuji raised an eyebrow.
"You're just going to start paying everyone's exit fee?"
Takeru shrugged.
"Pretty much."
Megumi looked at him.
"You have that many points?"
Takeru grinned.
"I've got plenty."
Higuruma looked thoughtful.
"Then we should determine who genuinely wants to leave before spending them."
"Yep."
Takeru pointed at him.
"You're helping me make the list."
Higuruma nodded.
"Fine."
Takeru turned toward everyone.
"Alright!"
He raised his voice.
"If you want out of the Culling Game…"
He pointed toward himself.
"…come talk to me."
A pause.
"I'll pay."
Yuji smiled.
"You really are serious about this."
Takeru nodded.
"Yeah."
He looked toward the barrier.
"Let's get as many people out as we can."
His Kogane hovered quietly beside him.
For once, Takeru wasn't using his absurd number of points for something ridiculous.
He was using them to give people a choice.
