"What document are you talking about?" Alex asked curiously, his brows knitting together as his eyes searched mine for an answer.
There was genuine confusion written across his face. He seemed completely caught off guard by my request.
I didn't hesitate.
"Marital Protection Agreement," I declared firmly, as I made sure every word was spoken with confidence. "This is to protect my interests in this marriage, Alex," I continued, keeping my voice steady as I deliberately arranged my expression into that of someone who had been deeply hurt.
Someone who simply wanted reassurance, and someone who deserved to feel secure.
