Chapter 24 - CH = 23 The Trap Was Never Mine

Previous Chapter Reminder: In the previous chapter, Manu and the Falcon Team entered their hideout. Manu assigned tasks to everyone, while Nyra and a mysterious ally gathered important information. However, the identity of that mysterious person remained hidden.

Now Next...

Scene Shift – Frost Vein Academy Hideout

NARRATOR VOICE: The scene opens inside a house.

This wasn't an ordinary house. It had everything a normal family home would have—sofas, a television, a dining table, bedrooms, and even a bathroom.

On one of the sofas sat a girl with a calm expression. Several students stood around her.

A messenger stepped forward.

He wore white clothing with a light-blue snowflake symbol embroidered on his chest.

The girl sitting on the sofa was Eira.

Her chin rested on her hand as she leaned slightly forward.

She wasn't speaking loudly, yet her voice carried authority.

Eira: Messenger, what news do you have?

Messenger: Lady Eira, we've discovered Manu's hideout location.

Eira (laughing): Little Turtle...

Show me that my efforts weren't wasted.

---

Scene Shift – Sun Academy Hideout

NARRATOR VOICE: Back at the warehouse, everyone except Manu was shocked.

The mysterious person slowly removed his mask.

Behind it was none other than Guttu.

Guttu: Ladies, it's truly a pleasure to meet you.

Honestly, I didn't want to come here, but Manu forced me.

And I couldn't leave beautiful girls alone in such a dangerous round.

Guttu darling, your simplicity and my gorgeous looks...

A match made in heaven!

NARRATOR VOICE: Guttu refused to leave Elira alone.

Elira immediately pushed him away.

Meanwhile, Manu's expression became serious.

Manu: Tell me.

What's the information you mentioned earlier?

Guttu: There's good news and bad news.

Manu: Start with the bad news.

Guttu: The bad news is that Eira will eventually discover our hideout.

The good news is that we've already found her hideout.

Elira Windmark: Then we need to change our hideout immediately.

Lyra: I agree.

Darius: We should relocate before they attack.

Should I search for a new hideout?

Manu: Yeah, that needs to be done.

Nyra: No.

I already have a plan.

Come closer.

NARRATOR VOICE: Nyra explained her plan.

At first, everyone had been worried.

But after hearing her strategy, confidence returned to their faces.

Slowly, evil smiles appeared across the entire team.

Manu: Guttu, do the task I assigned to you.

Lyra, find a new base.

Elira and Darius, clean and prepare it.

Nyra, you're coming with me to Eira's hideout.

Elira: Not again...

Nyra: We don't know the exact location.

Only Guttu does.

Manu: Oh right...

I completely forgot.

Guttu, show us the location first.

And one more thing—

Don't give me a map.

I don't know how to read maps.

NARRATOR VOICE: Everyone stared at Manu.

Nyra simply sighed.

---

Frost Vein Academy Hideout

NARRATOR VOICE: Manu and Nyra arrived near Eira's base.

Inside the hideout, Eira was already preparing to eliminate Manu.

Eira's Member: Leader, before leaving we should place bodyguards and traps around the hideout.

Eira: No.

Using that much effort on a useless academy is a waste of time.

It's impossible for Sun Academy to know our location.

Eira's Member: Maybe, but taking precautions wouldn't hurt.

Eira: Fine.

Install a camera and let's move.

Another Member: Should we carry our secret information with us?

Eira: How are you this dumb?

If we lose the battle, they'll learn all our weaknesses.

Second Member: Boss, they're just newbies.

Please show them mercy.

NARRATOR VOICE: Eira and her team left the hideout.

At the same time, Guttu also departed.

Hidden nearby, Manu and Nyra had heard everything.

However, they didn't enter immediately.

Instead, they waited.

Two hours later, Nyra received a message.

Lyra's Message: Frost Vein Academy is near our base.

Nyra: Looks like it's time.

---

Simultaneous Infiltration

NARRATOR VOICE: Manu and Eira entered each other's hideouts at almost the same moment.

Inside Frost Vein Academy's base, Manu and Nyra searched everywhere.

Under sofas.

Inside furniture.

Behind walls.

Every possible location.

But they found nothing.

Manu: We need to hurry.

They could return any minute.

And honestly...

After all this searching, I'm tired.

I need something to eat or drink.

NARRATOR VOICE: Manu headed toward the kitchen.

Suddenly, Nyra grabbed his wrist.

Nyra: Wait.

I think I found something important.

---

Sun Academy Hideout

NARRATOR VOICE: At the same time, Eira's team entered Sun Academy's base.

One member stepped forward.

His foot landed on a stone-colored plate hidden in the floor.

The plate blended perfectly with its surroundings.

The moment pressure was applied—

CLICK!

Dozens of needles shot from the walls.

Eira: RUN!

NARRATOR VOICE: It was too late.

The needles struck everyone.

Then another sound echoed through the base.

A lever had been activated.

At the same moment, Eira's surveillance camera turned on.

She saw Manu and Nyra inside her hideout.

Eira (thought): I underestimated them.

---

Frost Vein Academy Hideout

NARRATOR VOICE: Back in reality, Eira heard movement nearby.

Two shadows emerged from the darkness.

Everyone except Eira was shocked.

The shadows revealed themselves.

Lyra.

And Darius.

However, Darius looked completely different.

He wasn't carrying his shield.

Instead, he was holding a mop.

A plastic bag covered his head.

Dust covered his clothes.

He looked less like a warrior and more like a husband forced to do all the housework alone.

Darius quickly covered his face.

Eira: What kind of joke is this?

Did your team quit the tournament to become housekeepers?

Lyra: You should look above you first.

NARRATOR VOICE: Frost Vein Academy looked upward.

A giant net dropped from the ceiling.

Like fish being caught in a fisherman's trap.

The net wrapped around the entire team.

Eira: Why can't we move?!

What did you do?!

---

Flashback – Nyra's Plan

Nyra: Listen carefully.

We'll use this hideout as a trap.

First, install paralysis needles.

Then add pressure-triggered mechanisms.

The moment someone steps on them, the traps activate.

For extra security, prepare a net trap.

Once Frost Vein Academy enters, send me a message.

Manu: Why would they even come here?

Nyra: Because they think we're weak.

People always underestimate those they consider weak.

They won't think too deeply about us.

They'll come.

Manu: And if they don't?

Nyra: I'm 99.9% sure they will.

Because they know our location.

But they don't know we know theirs.

And Eira won't bother checking.

Her ego won't allow it.

---

Present

NARRATOR VOICE: After hearing the explanation, Eira's face cycled through countless emotions.

Shock.

Disbelief.

Regret.

Frustration.

Then slowly, her team began disappearing.

Eira: You won using cheap tricks!

---

NARRATOR VOICE: Meanwhile, Manu and Nyra opened the refrigerator.

Both of them smiled.

Inside was a pancake.

The true objective.

The hidden information.

The moment they consumed it—

Frost Vein Academy was officially eliminated.

But there was something else inside the refrigerator.

A black file.

Still unopened.

Don't be sad that this chapter was shorter than usual.

There was a reason.

The deadline was getting close, and I ended up watching a web series.

By the time I realized it, there wasn't enough time to make the chapter longer.
