At the festival the next day the two of them were on the stage and they sang it went brilliantly and the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Liam beamed while Jane scanned the crowd and her eyes landed on a figure who waved at her and ran. Jane sprinted into action she ran after the man Liam saw her and ran after her it was like a scene from a comedy.
Liam: Hey wait!
Jane ignored him running behind the man dodging people and animals. She ran with Liam trailing after her until the man was trapped in a dead end.
Jane: Your trapped give up.
Man: Relax doll I was just playing a game.
The man raised his hands up in mock surrender.
Jane: Your under arrest.
Man: I don't think so.
The man lunged at Jane with a punch but Jane dodged effortlessly. Liam spring into action kicking the man hard in the ribs. Jane punch the man at least six times then then tied up his hands behind his back. Agents ran into the alleyway clearly alerted by Liam and took the man away.
Liam: That was awesome how did you do that you dodged his punch effortlessly.
Jane answered him almost smugly.
Jane: I have my ways.
Liam: Your Awesome.
Jane's cheeks tinged pink but she covered it with an eye roll.
Jane: It's nothing but now we need to find our why he was at a festival in the first place you can't just steal candy canes.
Liam: Your right....I guess that means we're not partners anymore.
Jane: I didn't say that we started this mission and we're going to end it Agent Walker.
Liam's face lit up and he smiled a big wide grin. Jane's eyes softened at the sight.
Liam: Really?!
Jane: Yeah really.
Liam: Ma'am now that we did come to the festival can we stay for some time if you don't want to it's fine.
Liam fidgets with an imaginary thread on his shirt. Jane looks at him then sighs.
Jane: Fine but only for an hour.
Liam: Ok let's go.
Without asking he grabs Jane's hand and drags her back in the festival and for once Jane doesn't resist physical contact she clutches his hand when he realizes what he did so that he can't pull away. Liam takes her to the ring toss booth. He gives money to the booth operator.
Liam: I'll have a try.
He tosses and lands all of them Jane looks stunned but quickly turns indifferent. Liam puffs out his chest like a proud child as the booth operator gives him two matching watermelon keychains. He holds one out to Jane his cheeks turn pink.
Liam: Here one for you.
Jane looks at Liam then the keychain and reach out for it tucking it in her pocket.
Jane: Thanks and nice shot.
Liam: Let's go over there.
And just like that the day goes on with an excited Liam and an indifferent Jane who's heart is beating faster than usual.
