Peter had turned around to look at Portia who was entertaining herself with the Spider-Bot.
Portia, sensing that he was looking at her, turned around and looked at him with those eight innocent eyes. He extended his hand and the spider happily jumped into the outstretched hand and walked until she climbed onto his shoulder.
Once Portia was on his shoulder, she started rubbing against him, making him purr. When he learned this, he instantly wanted to know if he had inherited that ability too, since it would be a little embarrassing if he purred when someone petted him or something like that.
But thanks to The One, he had not inherited that particular ability.
"This...."
"Itsy? You know, I still do not understand your habit of naming things," Missy said, confused, upon seeing the small spider name on display.
"First, you would not understand. The name is too personal," he said while watching Portia rubbing up against him.
She had been shortened to Itsy, and he had an idea a few days ago when he saw her, but that idea would be on hold until he had all the things he needed.
"Second, not exactly, but almost exactly." He said this to confuse Missy even further, laughed while grabbing Missy by the waist and lifting her up to settle her on his lap.
Missy instinctively settled into his lap while he minimized the Blodi-77 biography and opened a new file.
"Look," he said, gaining Missy's attention. Her eyes widened in amazement when she saw it.
"Peter.... Est-...."
"During my training, I have made a significant amount of progress," he mentioned as he began to explain.
"Although I have not managed to defeat Cogman-Wick, I have learned that my spider-sense is much more than a danger alert. The effect of this ability is unprecedented and the only limitation is how much information I can process."
"Wait, that means-...."
"The more I train my brain, the more powerful I become and the more branches I create with my abilities. It was after training that I learned I could speak, command, and control spiders."
Missy looked at the screen recording which showed a video of him giving multiple commands to the spiders and instructing them with various tasks such as hunting, camouflaging, problem-solving, and teamwork. The screen had a folder showing the phenomenal results.
"How.... how is that possible?"
"That.... is kind of complicated to explain," he said while rubbing his chin, trying to formulate an easy answer that did not sound like she would have to study Greek and Mandarin at the same time to understand it.
"It is how to implant a part of my subconscious, my intentions, and my commands into the consciousness of these little ones. These little ones have little to no resistance against my commands and easily become my little Minions."
"Minions!" Portia said, making him laugh a little. He stroked her head for a few seconds so she could climb onto his chest and jump onto the Blodi-77. Missy saw him laugh a little and raised an eyebrow.
"Itsy compares me to Gru and my little Minions," he said, making Missy smile and shake her head.
"So, you understand everything they are saying?"
"No. The only spider that can have a conversation with me is Itsy because she was genetically altered, giving her the consciousness and mind of a person. With the other little ones, I receive information through a combination of images, frequencies, and feelings. If I concentrate enough, it does not matter how far away a spider is. Once I implant my consciousness into them, I can see whatever they see. They are my eyes."
"I understand now," she said while absorbing the information. "But that is going to be a nuisance, is it not?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, to extend your subconscious mind across the world, you would have to implant your consciousness into each spider individually, considering that if you could transmit your consciousness you would have already done so."
"Well, that last part is true. I still cannot transmit my consciousness to everyone, but that does not mean I have to go implanting it one by one."
"Huh?"
He smiled as he opened another file. Missy read the contents of the file, and her mind shuddered the further she read.
"These spiders are going to be the first of their kind. I call them Klerikus," he said looking at the image of a newborn black spider with red and gold details.
"This is the first Klerikus, his name is Anansi, The Protector. It is a way of honoring the God. He was born under the influence of my conscience and knows exactly what to do. One hundred of these Klerikus will hatch when the exams are over. Anansi is going to nurture these newborns and raise them with a mission in mind."
"Which is....?"
"Spread my influence. Once they grow up I am going to scatter these one hundred Klerikus all over the world where they will create their underground nests called Barracks. There they will create their own followers while spreading my influence to them in this way-...."
"They will pass your subconscious on to their followers, and their followers will do the same to other spiders, and so on." She gasped and looked at him in amazement. "It is like a chain reaction!.... You are a damn genius!"
"Watch your language," he chuckled as he hugged Missy, who returned the hug from her amazing boyfriend.
Missy was still excited by how brilliant her boyfriend's plan was. Even though he was not a hero, she was glad he was not the bad guy in the story. She shuddered to imagine what would have happened if he had been.
"So.... those are all your plans?" she asked, pulling away from the hug while looking into his eyes.
"It is not even the beginning."
He pulled Missy into a deep kiss as they hugged, while Itsy jumped on the Blodi-77 to play with her new metal spider friends.
