Chapter 187 - Chapter 187: Three Parties Converge in New York!

Universe 99999.

New York.

In this frequent setting for American comic book Universe stories, three groups of people arrived in the New York City of this Universe at almost the same time.

The first group, or rather, the first person to land in New York.

It was Gwen, who had just rushed back from Washington to investigate a strange 'warning' from her Spider-Sense.

She was also the true Gwen of this Universe!

And the second group was an actual team.

That was the Spider-Alliance, led by Spider-Man 2099, who had just narrowly escaped from Inheritor Family...

That's right, after the surviving Spider-Men of the Spider-Alliance escaped, they also happened to arrive in the Universe where Ryan was...

As for the third group, though several people landed together, they weren't a team or an alliance...

They were the four-person combination of the two Wandas just back from Sokovia, along with Wolverine Logan and Pietro.

And here comes an even bigger coincidence!

The places where these three groups appeared were all near the same airport!

First, the airport where Gwen and the two Wandas landed was exactly the same; both groups were inside the airport at this moment, with only a slight difference in their flight landing times.

While the Spider-Alliance wasn't inside the airport, they appeared on a rooftop on the airport's outskirts.

The moment Gwen and the Spider-Alliance appeared, their Spider-Senses reacted to each other due to their close proximity.

This let both sides know that a new, unfamiliar Spider-Man had appeared nearby.

Spider-Man 2099 and his team thought it was a local Spider-Man of this Universe, so they didn't pay much attention.

But Gwen's brow furrowed because she had already met the Spider-Men of this Universe before, so the appearance of this new Spider-Man was definitely abnormal!

She even suspected that perhaps... these Spider-Men were related to her Spider-Sense's mysterious reaction from before!

Because of this, to investigate, Gwen unhesitatingly changed into the Ghost-Spider spider suit Ryan had made for her and swung toward the source of those dense, unfamiliar Spider-Sense signals on her Silk!

Just after Gwen left the restroom after changing into her spider suit, Wolverine at the airport sniffed the air, stopped in his tracks, and looked solemnly at the Witch beside him.

"Something's up. I smell the scent of Spider-Man, and more than one!"

Hearing this, the Witch stopped her advance, frowned, and looked at Wanda and Pietro nearby.

"You two go to Parker Tower on your own. Just give the Maximoff surname; Ryan already arranged for someone to meet you."

Wanda and Pietro weren't children anymore; they sensibly said nothing more and obediently left with their luggage.

Once the two burdens, who hadn't yet awakened their abilities, had left, the Witch and Wolverine no longer had any reservations.

With a wave of the Witch's hand, red light swirled around her and Wolverine, and they flew up right before the eyes of the airport passengers, heading toward the direction Logan had smelled.

This left the other passengers in the airport, whether waiting to board or having just landed, staring at each other in utter confusion...

Wait, they're passengers too, so why can they fly on their own while we have to wait for a plane to carry us?

The vast airport instantly became lively due to the duo's high-profile flight.

In the noisy departure lounge, among the passengers taking photos with their phones, one person seemed completely out of place.

It was an old man quietly reading a newspaper.

The old man paid no mind to the airport commotion, not even glancing at the departing Witch and Wolverine. He just quietly looked at the comic book in his hand and shook his head, saying leisurely:

"What's wrong with young people these days? Have they never seen someone fly before? Doesn't this city have several Spider-Men swinging through it every day? Honestly..."

If anyone looked down at the comic book in the old man's hand, they would be surprised to find that the content was the battle between the Spider-Men and Inheritor Family!

And the cover of this comic was clearly labeled with the words 'Superior Spider-Man'!

The old man wearing sunglasses closed the comic book, stretched, and a smile appeared on his kind face. "Let me go see what kind of different waves this new kid can stir up in my Universe this time~"

"Oh my god! Oh my god! I feel like a big shot has arrived in this Universe!"

At Parker Tower, Deadpool, who had already been released from prison, suddenly hopped on his one good leg, pointing his other leg—which hadn't fully grown back and looked like a baby's tender foot—in a certain direction.

That direction was exactly toward the airport.

Actually, without Deadpool saying anything, Ryan was already looking in that direction.

If even Gwen could sense those sudden, unfamiliar Spider-Man presences, how could Ryan, whose Spider-Sense was countless times stronger than Gwen's, not sense them?

Moreover, besides those unknown Spider-Man presences, Ryan also sensed a very familiar Spider-Sense.

That was...

Ryan turned to look at the other Gwen beside him. Seeing the panicked look in her eyes as if she had sensed something, he said calmly, "Gwen, 'you' are back..."

Gwen:

Oh, no...

It's over!!!

The 'me' who catches cheaters is coming to catch me!!!

On a certain rooftop on the outskirts of the airport noticed by multiple parties...

Several battered figures of Spider-Men were currently standing or sitting there...

They were Spider-Man 2099, who had appeared before; Spider-Woman Jessica; Spider-Punk; Scarlet Spider; Spider-Man Noir; Spider-Ham; and the D.Va Spider-Man, Peni Parker...

They were the only surviving Spider-Men from the team Spider-Man 2099 had assembled to hunt down Inheritor Family.

You should know that for this operation, Spider-Man 2099 had gathered over a hundred Spider-Men to participate!

And the result?

Not a single member of Inheritor Family was taken down, yet only these few people remained from their group!

Although these weren't all the Spider-Man members in the Spider-Alliance—besides the hundred or so who died in this mission, the Spider-Alliance still had hundreds of Spider-Man members from various Universes.

But after this crushing defeat, Spider-Man 2099 didn't dare to summon any more Spider-Men to go to their deaths against Inheritor Family.

To put it in one sentence... he chickened out!
