Chapter 1 - The day I was meant to die

Arjun never believed in fate—until the day it took his life away.

Rain poured down like sharp needles, drenching his shirt as he stood on the rooftop, gazing down at the city lights below.

His phone screen still flickered with the message that had brought him here.

"Come alone.

If you want the truth."

A mistake.

Footsteps echoed behind him.

"Still as predictable as ever," a voice he recognized said.

Arjun turned slowly, his chest tightening.

"You...?"

Three figures stepped out of the shadows—people he trusted, people he would have given his life for.

"How much were you paid?"

Arjun asked, his voice steady even though the storm inside him was raging.

One of them laughed.

"Enough."

The betrayal didn't hurt as much as he had expected.

What hurt was realizing he had seen it coming—and ignored it.

"You always thought you were the smartest," another said, raising a gun.

"But in the end, you were just a piece on the board."

Arjun smiled faintly.

"Maybe," he said.

"But pieces can still change the game."

The gunshot rang out.

Pain exploded through his chest.

His legs gave way, and the world tilted violently. As he fell, the city lights blurred into darkness.

So this is how it ends…

But instead of silence, something strange happened.

A whisper.

Cold.

Distant. Unfamiliar.

"Fate has been altered."

Arjun's eyes snapped open.

He wasn't on the rooftop anymore.

He stood in a grand hall of marble and gold, his reflection staring back at him from a towering mirror—but it wasn't his face.

Sharp features.

Cold eyes. A presence that radiated danger.

Then memories flooded in.

A name.

A role.

A destiny.

Arjun staggered back, his heart racing.

"No way…"

He wasn't just alive.

He had become the most feared villain in a story he once read—

…and a man who was destined to die again.
