Chapter 18 - Real Magic

As Tiy walked away, she began looking for places for circles again. Her circle magic prioritised coverage over mana density since most curses are the same, no matter how much mana is put into the spell.

In preparation for the fight, Tiy wanted to mainly use two curses. The first curse is the same curse she used on Isaac, which would give all people cursed nightmares until cured. The main reason for this choice is to make all the wind blessed exhausted and paranoid.

The second curse would make the wind blessed tongue tied, causing all wind blessed who could use magic unable to channel any spells, leaving them with only the weaker chantless magic.

Normally, Tiy would want to make a circle that would curse them with lethargy, but she would not want the wind bless to fully stop hunting, and provide everything she would need for the takeover. Otherwise, she would have to head back to Grassciair or Isaac, which would put the plan on hold for a while.

Tiy walked around the campground many times before settling for hiding one circle near the monument that would make them have nightmares since only important wind blessed could go there, mainly the hunters.

The second spot would be put near the hut that was used as a school for the wind blessed, because the chances of the adults teaching the younger kids would drastically decrease.

Tiy went to the monument of first sparks, which was deep inside a cave that the camp surrounded. The monument was a cave painting that depicted the first thought of the rooters, which was the race that came from Grassciair.

It looked like a rough painting of a man grabbing a stick and sharpening it to make a spear, as hundreds of people followed in the man's footsteps, before the man killed everyone who copied him.

The rooters had a very one track mind that only cared about individuality, and that if anyone was too much like someone else, they would be killed. Tiy had once heard a rumour about that man in the painting, and that he was one of the elders and had a trait called individuality, and it is because of that reason that the rooters follow that principle.

Tiy used a small knife made of stone to begin carving away at the cave so that she could begin drawing the circle. It took many hours before she was able to make it function, which meant that it would be very hard to destroy since someone would need to carve at the circle for at least half an hour before anything would change.

As Tiy finished drawing that circle, Exo ran in and quickly spoke.

"Dame, we have a problem! That guy who is in on the plan is fighting your bodyguard right now!"

Tiy turned around as soon as Exo began talking, first with annoyance, but that was soon replaced with fear since Isaac was nowhere ready to fight someone like her bodyguard.

"What do you mean they are fighting? My guard should be out hunting right now out west."

Tiy quickly rolled her eyes into the back of her head, which was a condition to track people she had cursed. She had cursed her bodyguard when they first met since he did not seem trustworthy. And much to her dismay, both Isaac and her bodyguard were right next to each other.

Tiy quickly grabbed Exo's shoulder and began dragging him.

"Since you're part of this, you need to help us now. I need you to cover for me while I go and try to help him."

Exo was not sure what he could do in order to cover for her, but he was willing to try. He handed her a small ladybug, which flew into her pocket.

"I'll try my best and keep the ladybug on you so that I can see what is going on."

Tiy nodded quickly before running out of the camp, which was spotted by a few wind blessed, but Exo quickly stopped them from following her.

Tiy ran as her life depended on it because it did. If Isaac were to die, then the past month of planning would go up in flames. Isaac, if given enough time, could learn magic that would strengthen both his own and her magic, on top of his knowledge about more advanced forms of fighting that were used in his world.

As Tiy ran into the woods, she saw the woman who was tasked with giving Isaac that bag standing in Tiy's way. The woman had a very calm stance, but seemed to have an uncanny feeling about her, as her mana seemed to be spreading all around the forest from where she stood.

Tiy ran straight past the woman, not giving her a second glance, until Tiy felt a stabbing pain in her side, making her fall and roll forward a few meters. Tiy grabbed her side and looked down to see a knife piercing her side.

Tiy stood up as the woman approached. Tiy took a few steps back before pulling out the knife and wrapping the wound with some cloth that she tore off her clothes. Meanwhile, the woman walked closer to Tiy and began casting a spell.

Tiy quickly finished wrapping the wound right as the spell hit her. The spell seemed to be a form of sharp force made of wind, and it cut Tiy's shoulder. Tiy dashed closer, trying to grab the woman, but she moved out of her way right before contact could be made.

The woman let out a laugh and spoke.

"Oh, Lady Dame, you are not going to save that boy, Husker is going to kill him, and I am going to kill you since you have plagued his mind ever since you first showed your face, you skank."

Not giving the woman a chance to speak, Tiy ran closer and stabbed the woman in the gut, which was met with lukewarm results as the knife only managed to get an inch into her body before the woman casted another spell, which hit Tiy right in the face.

The spell was an explosion that hit both of them, but it seems Tiy took the brunt of the force as it knocked her back a few feet. Tiy rolled back up, feeling blood leak out from her wound on her side.

Tiy casted a smokescreen to hide herself and then began channelling a spell. The woman, meanwhile, took the knife out of herself and began taking a few steps back to leave the smoke screen.

"I learned how you got your title, The Hollow Dame. It's because you were forced to kill your own mother since you tried to kill one of the ancestors, and then you became hollow on the inside... How pathetic."

Tiy used the sound of the woman's voice to find her and then casted the spell on her. Purple thorns began wrapping themselves around the woman's body before slowly crawling up. Lacerations plagued her body as the woman began crawling away.

The woman let the thorns cut her as she pulled herself out of them. Before the woman could roll away, Tiy was already upon her and stomped down on her leg. The woman let out a shriek as her leg snapped, and blood began pouring out of the cuts in droves.

Tiy reached down and grabbed the woman's face. The woman bit her lip hard enough for blood to flow out before spitting that blood on Tiy's face, with some getting into Tiy's eye, giving the woman enough time to kick Tiy with her one leg that remained.

Tiy did not move but did let go of the woman who fell to the ground. The woman reached into her pockets and brought out the mana berries that Tiy had brought back to the wind, blessed a few hours ago. The woman ate them whole, and then brought out a few star shaped plants.

The woman began speaking in tongues that Tiy could not understand, but recognised them as support magic, and by the time Tiy cleaned her face, the woman had already healed her leg and started running away.

Tiy began chasing her while she began casting another spell. The woman seemed to be running in the direction of where Isaac was. It seemed like that woman had given up on trying to kill Tiy alone and was going to get Tiy's bodyguard to help her.

Tiy was starting to grow sick of this fight, which should have been in her favour, but, for some reason, this woman knew support magic, which was the counter to curse magic, and Tiy was willing to bet the elders of Grassciair had something to do with this.

Tiy finished casting her spell, but it was not a spell that was meant to effect the woman, but instead, it was being cast on herself. The spell was a simple one, it would make it next to impossible to slow down, but had the upside of constantly speeding up to the point of no return.

If the woman wanted a chance to outrun Tiy, she would need to remove the curse from Tiy, which would also remove the curse that Isaac had casted, and would alert him about the removal of the curse.

Or at least that's what the woman thought Tiy's plan was, but the reality was much crueller. The woman turned around, getting ready to remove Tiy's curse, but she was nowhere to be seen. The woman looked around in all directions, but no one but herself was there, until something heavy fell onto the woman's shoulders, it was Tiy.

Tiy had climbed up a tree and waited for the right moment to strike. The whole reason this was possible was because of Tiy's trait Curse Mother, which made all curses follow her will, even if someone else casted them on her, so just as quickly as the curse was cast, it was removed.

Tiy sat on top of the woman and grabbed the knife, which was still inside the woman. Tiy then stabbed the woman many times in the spine, until the woman could no longer move her legs.

Tiy then rolled the woman over, who could only move her eyes now due to being paralysed. Tiy then grabbed her face again and whispered into her ear.

"There is more to the story on how I got my title, but you won't be alive long enough to hear it."

The woman's eye began shaking violently as her mana began draining out of her body and into Tiy's body, turning her light purple skin into a deep violet. The woman began turning into a husk of her former self, as her body dried up and wrinkled until all that was left was a hollow husk of a person.

inside Tiy's head, a voice just like hers spoke

"You have grown closer to your Title: The Hollow Dame."

"All curse magic is stronger."

"You have killed Wind bless Saturn."
