Chapter 1 - Take Ajo Bhulte Parini,Ch-6

Title: Ajo Bhulte Parini (Chapter 6)

The sky above Saradana village was painted in soft shades of orange and purple as the sun slowly disappeared behind the fields. Rahul stood near the old banyan tree where everything had once begun. The same place where he had first confessed his feelings to Piyali… and the same place where he had lost her.

Years had passed, but for Rahul, time had stopped on that evening.

He closed his eyes, letting the cool breeze touch his face. Every whisper of the wind felt like Piyali's voice calling his name.

"Rahul…"

He suddenly opened his eyes.

For a moment, he thought it was just his imagination again. But then he heard it—clear, trembling, real.

"Rahul…"

His heart started racing. Slowly, he turned around.

There she was.

Piyali.

Standing just a few steps away, wearing a simple blue saree, her hair swaying in the wind. Her eyes held the same depth, the same warmth… but also a pain Rahul had never seen before.

"Piyali…" Rahul whispered, as if saying her name too loudly would make her disappear.

Neither of them moved for a few seconds. It felt like the entire world had paused just to watch them.

"You came back…" Rahul finally said.

Piyali smiled faintly. "Some promises don't let you stay away forever."

Rahul took a step closer, his voice filled with emotions he had buried for years. "Then why did you leave without telling me? Do you have any idea what I went through?"

Piyali lowered her eyes. Tears gathered, but she tried to hold them back. "I didn't have a choice, Rahul."

"There's always a choice!" Rahul's voice cracked. "You chose silence… you chose to leave me behind."

"No!" she looked up suddenly, her voice trembling. "I chose to protect you."

Rahul froze.

Piyali took a deep breath. "That night… when my family found out about us… things got worse than you could imagine. They had already decided my marriage. And when I refused… they threatened you."

Rahul's fists tightened. "Me?"

"Yes," Piyali nodded slowly. "They said they would ruin your life… your family… everything. I couldn't let that happen."

"So you just disappeared?" Rahul asked, pain clearly visible in his eyes.

"I thought if I left without saying anything, you would hate me… and move on," Piyali said, her voice breaking. "I wanted you to forget me."

Rahul laughed bitterly. "Forget you? Piyali, I tried… every single day. But I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried, everything reminded me of you."

Tears finally rolled down Piyali's cheeks. "I couldn't forget you either, Rahul. Not even for a moment."

They stood there, surrounded by silence, but their hearts were speaking louder than words ever could.

Rahul stepped closer, now just inches away from her. "Are you… happy?" he asked softly.

Piyali didn't answer immediately.

That silence said everything.

Rahul's chest tightened. "You got married, didn't you?"

Piyali closed her eyes. "Yes… I did."

The words felt like a knife piercing Rahul's heart. He took a step back, as if trying to distance himself from the pain.

"But," Piyali continued, "it didn't last long."

Rahul looked at her, confused.

"He was a good man," she said quietly. "But he never loved me… and I never loved him. It was just a marriage forced by circumstances. After two years, we separated."

Rahul didn't know what to say. Life had played a cruel game with both of them.

"I came back to Saradana after everything ended," Piyali said. "I didn't know if you would still be here… or if you had moved on."

Rahul looked at her deeply. "Do I look like someone who moved on?"

Piyali's lips trembled into a small, emotional smile. "No… you look like someone who waited."

Rahul took a deep breath. "I didn't wait because I was weak. I waited because what I felt for you… it was real."

Piyali stepped closer again, her eyes filled with hope and fear at the same time. "And now?"

Rahul looked at her for a long moment. "Now… I don't know if I should be happy that you're back… or scared that I might lose you again."

Piyali slowly held his hand. Her touch was warm, familiar… like home.

"You won't lose me this time," she said softly. "I'm not leaving again. Not for anyone, not for anything."

Rahul looked into her eyes, searching for any doubt.

There was none.

Only love.

The same love that had once brought them together… and now, after years of separation, was giving them another chance.

"Do you still love me?" Rahul asked, almost like a child seeking reassurance.

Piyali smiled through her tears. "Ajo bhulte parini… I still haven't forgotten you, Rahul. Not even for a second."

Rahul's eyes filled with tears as well. He gently pulled her closer, holding her as if he never wanted to let go again.

The banyan tree stood silently, witnessing their reunion—just like it had witnessed their beginning.

Maybe love doesn't always have a perfect journey.

Maybe it breaks, gets lost, and suffers.

But if it's true… it finds its way back.

And for Rahul and Piyali, their story wasn't over.

It was just beginning again.
