Chapter 5 - The Collapse (pt.4)

"Wake up!"

Mikey eyes shot open with a sense of urgency, his ocean colored eyes flickered back and forth to examine his surroundings.

Realization dawned on him when he took notice of the unfamiliar scenery.

He was no longer trapped in that godforsaken dungeon. He was finally free.

Though before he could shed a tear of joy or bask in his newfound freedom, his attention turned to a familiar silver haired girl.

"Shit!"

Mikey cursed this predicament as memories of his encounter with the android replayed within his mind, forcing his instincts into a fight or flight mode.

Unfortunately, the android had jumped onto the bed and straddled his waist. Much to Mikey's surprise, he found it nearly impossible to toss her aside.

It was as if his strength were being suppressed, similar to the chains that bounded him for two years.

Panic struck Mikey and he violently began to thrash around, knowing that if this continued he would be forced into more torture.

Elsewhere...

Occupied within a vastly large room, sat a total of twelve individuals around a large semi-circle wooden table. Next to each individual person that sat at the table, were two of their occupants that were brought along.

Diverse chattering filled the room, indicating each individuals were speaking about varying topics.

This lasted for a bit, until the person who gathered them all had finally coughed loud enough to gain their undivided attention.

"Listen. It's safe to say that humanity is on the brink of being conquered by extraterrestrial's. That was until recent developments. From what the research department gathered, our planet is now a neutral ground for interstellar war."

This statement made half the room gasp in shock, while others pondered in deep thought at the new dire situation at hand.

"Reports says, a new challenger for the beings already trying to conquer us has appeared. This could mean two things in certain. One, we are going to have an all-out world war or rather a planetary war. Second, which is probably more likely, the two extraterrestrial's team up to conquer us first then fight each other."

The mood instantly shifted when declaration that an alliance between the two alien species could be made to wipe humanity off the playing field.

"Sir. Is android 4245 not enough? I thought after the numerical enforcer was captured, information to upgrade our technology would be available."

This time a woman on the older side spoke, diverting the attention to herself.

"While it was possible to bring the enforcers at a stalemate with android 4245 and suppressants, we have a vague idea of how powerful the new adversary is-"

The leader who gathered them began to give a brief description but was interrupted by the doors to the meeting room being slammed open.

"Sir! the orbit of the planet has been thrown off course by the new extraterrestrial's invading. We believe their plan is to reconstruct the entire solar system!"

Everybody had frozen at the news, until the reality of the situation struck.

The ground began to tremor violently, creating spider-web cracks on the floor and along the walls.

Government Headquarters...

Mikey had managed to push the android off of him, struggling to get up from his bed but managing to stand with buckling legs.

"Your very malnourished and barely survived that blast. Trying to run isn't an option...you won't make it far."

The silver haired android proclaimed with a matter-of-factly tone, observing Mikey as he barely took two steps before falling to his hands and knees.

Unbeknownst to anyone but Mikey, his vision began to twist and distort as if he were in a drunken state. The laws of reality began to blur and the environment around him reached a relativistic effect.

Then with a thunderous, echoing thud, reality became fixed, but the environment was totally different.

The cubic objects no longer hung in the air, instead the once azure sky bled crimson in color. The sun rays of light were dimmed and the celestial body known as the moon, hung dangerously close to the surface, effecting the tides of the oceans.

What Michael Sonora witnessed was an apocalyptic event....

THE END OF THE WORLD...

Mikey's eyes fluttered rapidly as he found himself back in the room, staring at the porcelain floor tiles.

His breathing was ragged and heavy in exhaustion, ignorant to the subtle shine of the mark residing on his chest.

"I told you. Your body is-"

The silver haired android found her sentence cut short by Mikey suddenly shoving past her, forcing her to stumble and fall to the ground.

Though before she could stand and give chase, Mikey had already escaped the room which made the android sigh.

"Humans are so complicated"

.

"What was that dream? A prophecy?"

Mikey guided himself through the long corridors of the government building that kept him captive, clearly lost deep in thought regarding the chaotic dream from earlier.

"Michael Sonora, this is your only warning. Please return back to your room otherwise, I will have to use force."

Android 4245, otherwise known as Emily, had revealed herself to Mikey by stepping from behind the corner of the upcoming corridor wall. The glisten and sway of her silver hair caught Mikey's eyes before his gaze landed on her ultra-realistic azure eyes, unmoving, unblinking with a coldness resting behind her gaze.

'Ah damn. This stupid robot doesn't know when to give up'

Mikey released an exaggerated sigh at the declaration made by Emily, pondering his next course of action.

"I...refuse."

It was as if a switch had been triggered within Emily. The moment those two words left his mouth, she no longer stood at the end of the corridor.

Her sudden disappearance had made Mikey eyes go wide with surprise. Unfortunately, he did not have enough time to react as she appeared directly in front of him with no external disturbance of her instantaneous movement.

Emily arm blurred forward and her fist struck Mikey's stomach with enough force to make him double over and spit out saliva mixed with blood.

Despite Emily's overwhelming strength, Mikey forced himself to continue standing with trembling knees.

"Oh? most enforcers never manage to stay up."

Mikey ignored her comment and managed to take a few steps back, taking advantage of the situation to put enough distance between them.

'If my ability can alter space with numerical values, I wonder...'

.

The azure sky began to tremble, and tectonic plates began to violently split the ground, revealing the overwhelming depth of darkness that reached the center of the planet.

Each cube shaped object which was stationary in the sky had begun to fall. The sky began to spin at an unnatural degree, causing the position of the moon and sun to rapidly span across the globe, changing the conditions of night and day at a supernatural pace.

The orbital shift of the planet had begun to initiate a catastrophic event, forcing the one world government to signal the doomsday siren, which was heard by the entire world.

.

"The head scientist of the research facility had determined we have a week before we meet our end. It also seems like this new enemy has declared war on the enforcers, so as of now we will declare a temporary ceasefire and alliance to deal with this new threat."

Everyone within the meeting room could only listen to the command given to them, though many were very reluctant about the ceasefire but knew that their prejudice was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

On the other hand, the council had begun recalling their armed forces with the new commands. The word of this alliance and ceasefire had spread quickly, though deep in the shadows there were people who betrayed the command.

.

Mikey exhausted breathing filled the narrow corridors that were partially destroyed from intense combat. At the end of the corridor, Emily stood with an impassive expression as if her stamina hadn't been affected by the close quarter combat.

Just as they were about to reengage in combat, the violent earthquake struck. This left them unable to move forward, though fortunately for Mikey, Emily had received the command for ceasefire from the individuals who created her.

"I have been given a new task. Michael Sonora, by order of the council, we ask for a temporary alliance to combat the newly invading forces."

Mikey stood frozen in place, a dumbfounded expression twisting on his face at the request of an alliance.

"Uhh...Sure I guess..."

.

"Sire, we've thrown the planet orbit off balance. In a week's worth time, it should be completely engulfed in the void and frozen."

"Good. Now for phase two. Send the striker unit to suppress those with abilities."

"Right away Sire"

The brief conversation came to an end once the audible click of a shutting door echoed through the room, leaving the leader of the enemy forces alone to his thoughts.

.

Mikey stood in the center of a wide room, his sharp gaze sweeping across the many individuals who were seated at the round table.

The atmosphere in the room was silent and awkward. No one said nothing yet every word seemed to be conveyed through their silent judgement.

"So... what's the plan?"
