The monkey and the crocodile
Once upon a time, there was a clever monkey who lived on a tree beside a river. The tree was full of sweet fruits, and the monkey ate them happily every day.
One day, a crocodile came to the riverbank. The monkey saw him and said,
"Hello, friend! Would you like some fruits?"
The crocodile happily agreed. The monkey threw some fruits down to him. The crocodile loved them and started visiting the monkey every day. Soon, they became good friends.
One day, the crocodile took some fruits home for his wife. After eating them, his wife said,
"These fruits are so sweet! If the monkey eats such fruits every day, his heart must be very sweet too. I want to eat his heart!"
The crocodile was shocked but didn't want to upset his wife. So the next day, he went to the monkey and said,
"Friend, my wife has invited you to our home for lunch. Please come with me."
The monkey trusted him and agreed. He climbed onto the crocodile's back, and they started crossing the river.
In the middle of the river, the crocodile said,
"I'm sorry, my friend. My wife wants to eat your heart."
The monkey quickly thought of a plan. He said,
"Oh no! I left my heart on the tree. Let's go back and get it."
The foolish crocodile believed him and swam back to the tree. As soon as they reached the bank, the monkey quickly jumped onto the tree and said,
"You are not a true friend! No one can live without a heart. Go away!"
The crocodile felt ashamed and went back.
