Rin had made his decision on impulse.
At first, it had simply been an emotional reaction. After hearing Kaan's story, however, he couldn't stop thinking about it.
The more he thought about what had happened to those children—those Divine Knights—the more disgusted he became.
How could a god do something like this? How could someone who was supposed to be worshipped and trusted by countless people turn against those very same people?
Rin looked at Kaan, his expression becoming serious.
"Kaan, can you tell us more about this god?"
Kaan hesitated.
"Who is he? What kind of powers does he possess? And, most importantly…"
Rin's voice became quieter.
"Why did he torture you for so long?"
Kaan fell silent. For several moments, he simply stared at the ground.
Then he looked toward his friends. The other children were gathered around the fire, listening.
Kaan took a deep breath. And he began to tell the story.
For more than an hour, Rin listened.
