The sky above the vanished castle remained unnaturally still.
No clouds moved, no birds crossed the horizon. Even the wind Sol had summoned seemed reluctant to continue.
Rin stood among the surviving Divine Knights, staring at the place where the castle had disappeared. The pale eye was gone. World was gone.
But the questions remained. Too many of them.
You chose to erase the person you loved most.
Those words wouldn't leave Rin's mind. He slowly looked at Kaelith. Kaelith was already looking at him.
Again. Always. Whenever Rin turned around, Kaelith was there.
Watching. Making sure he was still breathing. Still standing. Still himself.
Rin finally sighed.
"You're doing it again."
Kaelith didn't pretend not to understand.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I told you."
Kaelith stepped closer.
"I want to make sure you're here."
Rin frowned.
"You've said that before."
"I'll keep saying it."
"That isn't normal."
Kaelith's expression didn't change.
"I know."
