Chapter 1 - THE MESSAGE HE NEVER SENT

Chapter 2: The Message He Never Sent

The night felt heavier than usual.

Aarav Singh sat on the edge of his bed, his phone glowing faintly in the dark. The chat was still open. Her name still pinned at the top—like nothing had changed.

But everything had.

His fingers hovered over the keyboard.

"I miss you."

He typed it.

Then stared at it.

Then… deleted it.

Aarav let out a slow breath, leaning back against the wall. It had been days since she left, yet his heart refused to accept it. Every small thing reminded him of her—songs, streets, even silence.

Especially silence.

Because earlier, silence used to be comfortable with her.

Now it just… hurt.

His phone buzzed.

For a second, his heart jumped.

But it wasn't her.

It was his mother.

"Have you eaten?" the message read.

Aarav smiled faintly. The only people who stayed… were the ones who never planned to leave.

Family.

He typed back, "Yes, Maa."

A lie.

He hadn't eaten properly in days.

His eyes drifted back to her chat. The last message she sent was still there.

"I think we should stop here."

No explanation. No fight. No closure.

Just an ending… like he meant nothing.

Aarav clenched his jaw slightly.

"Was it really that easy for you?" he whispered.

But the room didn't answer.

No one ever did.

He stood up and walked toward the window. The city lights flickered far away, alive, moving, full of people.

And yet, he felt completely alone.

Funny, he thought.

You can love someone with everything you have…

and still end up with nothing.

Aarav closed his eyes for a moment, letting the pain settle instead of fighting it.

Because deep down, he knew—

This wasn't the end of his story.

This was just the part… where he learns how to survive without her.
