"So you're saying that I was killed, stabbed, right?" Damian asked as he floated in the endless expanse of space, and before him, a pair of eyes made for that space.
"Yes...you were protecting your friend saved her life. A good death for you humans," replied a deep guteral voice as the eyes moved slightly
"She is alive... that's good, but if I'm dead, is this the afterlife?" Damina replied with a sigh of relief
"No, this is my domain. The abyss is a plan outside of life and death," the voice replied
"Outside of life and death...then what do you need with me?" Damian asked
"You know every human that I have ever spoken with and has seen even less than what you are seeing now has gone insane. Thier soul broke, but for some reason, you haven't. Because of that, I want to ask something of you," the voice replied
"Ask something of me...What?"
"I want you to become a guardian like you were in life and death."
"A guardian, what do you mean by that?"
"I will be sending you to a world. With one single task. Protect humanity from the higher beings. You will understand once you get thier thie but know this. Everyone is out to claim humanity and the other beings from thier own.
"Wait, what world. What beings?" Damian asked
"Don't worry, your questions will be answered once you get thier. But know this, Damian, you will be pushed to your limits. I hope you can become the guardian of this world," The voice spoke
"Wait...you...you, still," trying to ask more question Damians vision began to blur as he fell into a deep slumber.
[Kouh Town]
In the middle of a small, furnished apartment, Damian lay on a couch in a living room. Slowly, as the rise began to rise of the horizon and light peered through the blinds of the window, Damian slowly opened his eyes, sitting up as he rubbed his eyes.
"That dream...it seemed so real," Damian sighed as he ran his hand over his face
With his vision focused and his surroundings clear, Damian stood up in surprise and concern.
"This is definitely not my apartment...and I didn't go home with anyone,"
"...!"
As he said that, Damian was hit with a sudden headache as he fell to his knees. Thinking of the last knight, the memories started flooding back to him. Him out drinking with thier friends. A man walking up to them, his clothing torn and soaked, as he held a knife in his hand. Then the feeling of cold steel plunging into his stomach.
With the memories slowly fading, Damian wiped the sweat from his head and pulled himself up on the couch.
"It wasn't a dream...I really was stabbed, but I do not have a stab wound, no blood, or a scar. If that's the case, then was that not a dream?" Damian asked himself as he calmed down
"No focus. I need to find out where I am, that might give me a clue on what's going on," Damian said as he stood up and began looking for anything in the apartment that would give him a clue on where he was.
After a few minutes of searching, he found a phone on the desk in a bedroom. Turning it on, he began going through the phone and opened the internet. While looking through articles, something caused him to stop for a moment
"…Japanese?"
Everything was written in Japanese.
And somehow… he could read it perfectly.
That everything was in Japanese, which he could read clearly despite never having studied the language.
"Okay thats not possible unless my dream wasn't a dream,"
Pushing the thought aside for a moment, Damian kept looking and reading until he found a news article about a gas station robbery in a place called Kouh Town. Opening the maps app and looking at his surroundings, he found that he was also in Kouh town and not too far from the listed gas station.
"Kouh town...where have I heard that name before? It seems familiar," Damian said as he began to rack his brain for an answer.
He was about to give him when he saw another article about Kouh Academy reaching two years of being a co-ed school.
When he saw the school uniform, everything hit him at once as he realized that his 'dream' wasn't a dream and where he knew was.
"High school dxd...to think I was sent to this world," Damian said with a small chuckle
