This was my only thought. The only word that could be processed in my mind. I sprinted through the collapsed city, dodging broken pillars and glass shards from nearby stores. I didn't dare look back. All I knew was that I was being chased. By what, I couldn't tell. From the sound, it was a large, two legged creature. All other details were unknown. I had heard from the news that giant humanoid creatures had crashed into earth and started a rampage, killing over half of the world's population. No one saw one and lived to tell the tale. I ran past what used to be my favorite store as a kid. Tim's Toys. My mother never bought me anything but I walked around in awe at all the cool things that I found trivial now. My musing got me distracted and I tripped. No. Fell. Right on to a spiked piece of glass. Pain. Pain pain pain pain pain. And then. Nothing.
