The roaring sea of violet static shattered, spitting us out into a world of gray.
The teleportation ring beneath our boots hissed as its blue mana crystals dimmed, exhausted from bridging the massive distance across the kingdom.

A squad of heavily armored soldiers immediately lowered their spears at us.
They looked desperate and soot stained, their eyes wide with tension.

The rough, gravelly voice echoed across the courtyard.
The soldiers immediately parted and created a path for their commander.
Count Torvald stepped forward. He was a massive, scarred man built like a brick of solid iron.
Half of his face was covered in a thick burn scar, and his military uniform was modified with heavy leather and steel plating.
He stopped a few feet from me, his eyes darting to my mechanical arm, then to the imposing figures of Nyssa, Kaelith, and Rolf standing firmly behind me.
