Chapter 189: The Glass Battlefield
The Vanguard fleet cut through the freezing southern waters and finally reached the Azure Sea.
The dark churning ocean was entirely gone. In its place lay a perfectly smooth wasteland of glowing glass. The sheer divine heat radiating from the eastern continent had flash frozen the rolling waves into solid translucent silica. The horizon glowed with a terrifying blinding golden light.
I stood on the prow of the flagship. I wore the colossal Level 200 Dragon-Mech armor. The ancient starmetal plating hummed with limitless power.
The draconic reactor inside my chest pulsed in perfect rhythm with my Level 205 core.
I raised my heavy brass gauntlet.
"Halt the fleet," I commanded. My deep baritone voice echoed with a heavy metallic growl through my new helmet.
"Do not advance the ships onto the glass. The Vanguard will hold the perimeter. I alone will face this Calamity myself. You all shall stay behind and give me the backup. I am counting on you!"
