Chapter 2 - Part 2: The First Step into a New World

Heavy breathing echoed through the air.

"Pant… pant…"

Kacha sprinted back into his house without a second thought.

BANG! The wooden door slammed shut behind him.

He quickly leaned his back against it, sweat dripping down his face, still gripping the dimensional gate tightly.

"…That was close…"

He turned to look at it again.

A pitch-black object that looked like an ordinary door frame—

yet the faint glowing patterns on its surface made it clear…

…it was anything but ordinary.

Kacha slowly placed it in the center of the room,

then pulled out an old manual he had bought along with it.

"…What does it say again…"

His eyes scanned the text quickly.

"'The user must place their hands together… and state their wish…'"

"…Seriously? That's it?"

He stood still for a moment,

then let out an awkward laugh.

"Well… no harm in trying."

He pressed his palms together clumsily,

shut his eyes tight—

"…I want to go to another world!"

Suddenly—

WOOOOOM!!!

A burst of white light exploded out of the gate.

"WHAT THE—!!!"

A massive force blasted Kacha backward—

CRASH!

"Arghhh!!"

He hit the wall and collapsed onto the floor, completely dazed.

But when he looked up—

his eyes widened in shock.

The gate…

was actually opening.

White light swirled inside it like a vortex that could swallow everything.

"…That was way too easy…"

His voice trembled slightly—

a mix of excitement and fear.

He swallowed.

"…This is it… my chance."

Kacha slowly stood up,

staring into the light.

"Screw it… for the adventure!"

He took a deep breath—

and then—

"LET'S GO!!!"

WHOOSH!

His body leaped straight into the dimensional gate.

In front of the gate,

the light began to dim.

Numbers appeared out of nowhere.

30… 29… 28…

A countdown.

But suddenly—

BOOOOOM!!!

A deafening crash erupted from outside the house.

The wall shattered.

Dust scattered everywhere.

A large motorcycle burst in and skidded to a stop.

"…HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

A maniacal laugh echoed.

Dreammy—his head bleeding, face covered in blood—

yet still grinning like a madman.

"Pretty good at running, huh… redhead…"

His gaze locked onto the gate.

"…but in the end, you're still not getting away."

10… 9… 8…

"Something like this… isn't meant for trash like you!"

Dreammy jumped off the bike and charged forward.

"It belongs to ME!!!"

WHOOSH!

His body disappeared into the light—

just before the gate shut.

0

…Silence.

"… "

Kacha slowly opened his eyes.

A cool breeze brushed against his face.

He blinked repeatedly.

"…Where am I…"

Before him—

stood a massive medieval-style city.

Stone buildings lined the streets.

Thousands of people moved about.

Some wore leather armor.

Some wore red steel armor.

Some carried swords. Others held staffs.

"…This is the real deal…"

Kacha looked down at himself.

Still wearing a hoodie, long pants, and sneakers.

"…Definitely not my world anymore."

Suddenly—

DING!

A transparent window popped up in front of him.

[Welcome to Arc Supreme]

Zone: The High Zone – Beaver City

"…A system?"

Kacha's eyes lit up.

"Yo—this is just like a game!"

He was about to interact with it—

but then his gaze caught someone nearby.

"…Huh?"

A middle-aged man was sitting by the roadside, selling items.

He looked… familiar.

Kacha walked closer.

"…Uncle Fan?"

The man looked up—

and his eyes widened.

"Hey! Kacha!?"

"It really is you!"

Kacha grinned.

"I followed right after you!"

Uncle Fan laughed.

"Hahaha! You've gotta be kidding me… a kid like you actually came here?"

He looked Kacha up and down.

"…Still wearing your old-world clothes, huh."

"I just got here!"

Kacha smiled brightly.

"Perfect timing—let's go hunt monsters!"

"…Huh?"

Uncle Fan frowned.

"Wait—you're going alone?"

"Of course!"

"And your weapon?"

"No worries!"

Kacha gave a thumbs-up.

"I've played tons of games—I'm good!"

Uncle Fan went silent for two seconds.

"…You really are something else…"

Then he sighed.

"This world isn't a game."

His voice turned serious.

"The monsters here… kill people for real."

Kacha paused for a moment—

but his eyes didn't waver.

"…Then I'll just have to become strong."

Uncle Fan looked at him quietly,

then gave a faint smile.

"…Heh. I like that spirit."

He pulled something out.

"…Take this."

"What is it…?"

"A dagger."

He tossed it over.

"At least don't go empty-handed."

Kacha caught it,

his expression turning serious.

"…Thanks, Uncle."

He gripped the dagger tightly,

then turned to look at the city gate leading out to the forest.

"…This is it. The beginning."

He smiled.

"My first Arc."

But in the shadows behind him—

"… "

Dreammy stood there.

A cold, chilling smile spread across his face.

"Found you…"

"…redhead."
