Three and a half weeks.
That was how long it had been since Fashire had discovered my secret in Lord Lorn's castle.
I had known it had been some time. The days had blurred together in that chamber, punctuated only by Fashire's appearances and the brief, terrifying windows of freedom. But three weeks... Nearly a month of my life had been stolen.
Now it was the fourth week.
Roughly a month.
Becca had also filled me in on the boy as we made our way out of the castle. He was in Lady Gremlin's custody now. Apparently, Fashire had intended to keep him and raise him so that by the time the during the boon century arrived, he would have been old enough to be a proper source of blood in Rinne.
I felt a bit relieved he hadn't been kept for nefarious purposes.
And in a twisted way, according to Becca, it was actually better for the boy to be here in Rinne than on Earth.
