¬ Hiln
Across the courtyard, on the opposite side of the path, through an entryway between the tall hedge sat a small group of vampire nobles around a table. Three men, four women.
They were staring directly at me.
One of the women tilted her head as our eyes locked. Her eyes were pale, almost colourless, and her lips curved into a small, nasty sneer that revealed her fangs.
I stilled.
Becca's hand found my sleeve. Her grip was light, but I could feel the tension in her fingers.
"Hiln," she whispered. "We should keep walking."
I immediately shifted my feet, about to walk off. Becca was right. Standing here and staring back to them would not be a smart thing to do.
The woman with the pale eyes raised her hand and beckoned.
Something cold slithered down my spine.
"Who is that?" I asked quietly.
Becca's face had gone pale. "Lady Pim Gremlin. Youngest sister of our Lady Gremlin."
