Synopsis
[Welcome to Greater Earth] One message completely changed his life. After the fall of mankind, the tyranny of gods began. What little man could learn of magic, they did, and they strengthened themselves in it. Man’s understanding of spiritual energy gave birth to the awakening of Sigils—innate talents of which one could ‘branch’ out from in order to cast spells. Young Ronan was not only very poor, he was also very weak. Yet, he had one ‘not-so-noble’ goal. It was not to deliver mankind from the gods, neither was it to steal a god's heart and become one himself. Nevertheless, a god's heart, though incredibly difficult to find, makes its way into his hands during the heat of a battle he barely survives. As a result, he vows to make his petty little daydream a tangible reality. “I will enslave the entire world! Both gods and man alike!” This is the tale of the Immortal Tax Collector, the scorned, most hated, yet greatest fraud of all time.

Chapter 1 - Pillars From Heaven

It all started when a hundred thousand of these glowing, comic structures descended from heaven and stopped on Earth. From it, gods emerged, unfazed by the heat of the second world war.

These gods ruled our world. They established monopolies, and took large areas of land for themselves as Territories. All life laid in their possession. Both plants, animals, and even the humans residing in those territories.

The very first they did after fulfilling this order was to burn and cast away our identities and histories. According to them, we had no use for these things as we were now properties of the gods. Next, they culled every technological advancement. A great man once said they feared man's creativity. Perhaps this is why they made it such that the very presence of an inquisitive mind was a curse upon the entire land.

A few years ago, it came to man's knowledge that gods had 'hearts'. A central core that supports their consciousness and hold of a Territory. Rumor has it that if one could lay a hand on it, he or she may transcend and become a god.

I am excited for the future of humanity.
